FLAX EGG INSTRUCTIONS: Mix 1 Tbsp ground flax with 2 Tbsp cold water. Stir to combine, and let it sit for 5 minutes.

About me:

I'm Paula. I'm a former professional cook and overall eating enthusiast.

I started this channel because I love making dinner and I love eating dinner.. but mostly it's because all I've ever wanted in life is to have my own cooking show. When I didn't get a callback after submitting my tape to Food Network in 2003, I put that dream to rest for a while. Until I clued in, I can do it myself on YouTube!

I love sharing the tips I've learned from professional kitchens and tidbits from my holistic nutrition education. But mostly I just want to show you how to make dinner. (See what I did there?) 😄

My cooking style is simple but flavourful. I cook with a lot of veggies but I'm not vegetarian. For me, a typical dinner is plant-forward, budget-friendly, non-fussy, and really delicious. As a step-mom, I make a lot of family friendly comfort food, as well as a lot of simple, realistic dinners for one (or two).

  • It had to be done! Now my freezer is full of MW burgs so everybody wins. Enjoy!
  • As a fully plant-based eater, it always astounds me that self-proclaimed plant-based eaters don't just simply say to themselves "oh, I can tweak that this way" and move on with life.
  • I made these burgers today and they are delicious, a real hit. Thanks for sharing. However, I made them too big and boy, are they filling. A keeper at my house.
  • @roger12393
I bake them in the oven, much better than frying and thy come out firmer. Great recipe!!

Thanks for making those burgers, I really like veggie burgers but can never remember the ones I like. Now I can make my own. Thank you.
  • I made these last night for me and my husband and he asked me to make them again tonight. As for the pronunciation of "Worcestershire Sauce" I like to pronounce it "Wash Your Sister Sauce". It cracks me up every time I say it. All the Best

I made these today and they are so good. My husband was delighted as well. We are both new vegans for health reasons and these hit the spot. Thank you for sharing 😀

This is the second time I am making them, the first time I made them I didn't have black beans, but they turned very good😊 I am sure with black beans they'll be mouth watering. I didn't use Worcestershire sauce, thanks for the recipe

A little twist on your great recipe. I roasted the walnuts first and then added to mixture before cooking. I used harissa , and some smoked flavor to the mix. 😋

  • Oh my goodness. You look different than in your first video. This is nice. You have just matured. 😊 I will be making your mushroom recipe. It looks so delicious. You have a great calm video presence which keeps your viewers engaged and awake while watching your. Also, thanks for making a short video that gets right to the point--making the Walnut mushroom burgers.

Thank you so much. I know it seems silly, but I'm so overwhelmed with egg alternates, I didn't even think of the bean juice!
  • Hi , I made this burger today , it’s a good base burger recipe , the texture is good when the Pattie’s are made thin and crisped up in the pan . After I added all the ingredients for personal preference because I understand we all have different taste buds , I had to add more seasoning I added cumin , smoked paprika and Zataar would also be a good addition. I also used a flax egg no brine from the can specially if it’s full of sodium it adds more salt to the dish , I didn’t add the 1/2 tsp salt as I watch for too much sodium . I don’t like my burger on a bun specially any kind of a tad pasty burger so it’s a perfect addition to any salad , I made a quinoa with zesty vegan tofu feta with yellow peppers , cucumbers cilantro , red onions and leftover black bean from the can with a wonderful lime whole grain Dijon vinaigrette it really complimented the burger Patty so yummy no need for bread , I save my bread for Beyond burger I can’t beat this one ..thank you for a lovely recipe easy to adjust to your own taste . 😊😊😊😊
