King saying he wished he'd thought of that ending is probably the biggest praise you can get from an author whose story you're adapting.

The grandma throwing a can of peas at the lady made me laugh way more then I thought it should

Even Steven King himself admitted the ending was a clever twist.

Ollie was SUCH a badass in the movie. Without him the crew wouldn’t have survived. He killed the religious nut, helped with all the pharmacy stuff, and shot a PTERODACTYL. Wow, he was my favorite part of this entire movie.

That ending was soo HEAVY , holy shit.

The mist has literally the most heartbreaking ending I have ever seen in a movie ever. It’s genuinely the one ending that will stick with me forever. I can’t imagine what he was thinking when he saw the tank and the rescued people, knowing that he just mercy killed his son and the others for no reason. If they had just wanted literally 30 seconds.

I never realized this before, but the bullets add up perfectly. It’s a six-shooter so, assuming it was fully loaded when they made moves to leave, the two shots that took down Carmody would leave only four remaining. To think, if Ollie had just gone for the headshot first, David wouldn’t have had to live with himself after the Mist finally cleared. Christ, this movie really does just keep getting more and more depressing.

Just finished the movie and probably the saddest detail about the ending was that we see the mother who left at the beginning survived with her children, which means that David might've been able to save his son (and maybe even his wife) had they left sooner. It was a very memorable ending, nonetheless.

Hearing an elderly woman call another woman a “miserable buzzard” was my favorite piece of dialog from this entire movie.

I know that everyone has respect for olie but we can’t just forget how Melissa went back into the mist to go safe her kids and actually manage to do it without dying. She easily has my respect because I wouldn’t even of had the balls to attempt it.

Although Steven King says he wished he’d thought of this ending, i’m kind of glad he didn’t. I think if he had written it in the original source material, we would’ve expected it in the movie and it wouldn’t have had the same impact. The thing that really made this ending so heartbreaking was how everyone expected the original ending, then got something else.

All of the elderly people in this movie are BADASS and you can’t deny it

This is literally the only movie that shows the military effectively able to deal with the supernatural issue that is happening.
