This is good to not only show how important it it is to read the manual beforehand, but to quickly adapt to when things dont seem right.

This WILL take 3 coats to look like you see in the Behr brochures. I suggest rolling with the recommended roller the first layer, doesn't matter how it looks because just for adhesion. The 2nd and 3rd layers, get yourself a large to extra large quality brush (3-4 inches). Brush the 2nd layer in long even strokes up and down, dont changes directions (stay with the grain)for uniformity and it will look a lot nicer. Don't go too thick on the 2nd layer and on the 3rd layer paint the same way but a tad thicker, i recommend a 1/4" layer..make sure you spread even and don't go back and touch up once you moved on, let it fully dry 4 hrs. In certain cases a 4the layer may be necessary... we did the 3 that way and got great results. Tan color gg13 was the color we choose.

I applied this to a concrete planter. Looks great a year later. It is frustrating to apply, however. It's basically painted-colored glue with granite flakes in it. It takes 3-4 coats to make a really good result.

I'm just getting ready to apply this to my concrete patio in the Tan color. Now I'm nervous that I need another two cans. Thanks so much for the video, it really helped me.

How does this product hold up to winter shoveling? I am looking to apply this on a small porch where shoveling in winter is needed
  • @ronbang
How many gallons did that take? Cause it’s thick? Maybe I missed if you said it…
  • Pour it on and push it around is the best way or just get regular deck paint and add grip to it

I find that it applies better using a 4" chip brush attached to a paint pole. It takes longer but the end result looks better in 1 coat than the adhesive roller they suggest in the directions. Using the 4" chip brush is tedious but it's not so bad if you're doing a small area like that porch you have there compared to a driveway or pool deck. Using the widest paint brush you can find would probably be better but not as cheap. I tried the scrub brush style with soft bristles and it still does not provide as good results as the chip brush style. Hope that helps.
  • Do you think that after prepping the concrete if you applied a flat concrete paint as a base that coverage would have been easier for the 1st coat of the textured paint?
  • @housertc
How did you apply on the side of the step? i assume you brushed it on? They do not recommend the application vertically so was just curious how you did it.
  • @BlogTornado
Ok. I decide not to use it since the follow up says that the paint is coming off in standing water. Which I have plenty on my porch. Im not going with Granite look at all. Look's like I will go with 1 part epoxy paint instead.
  • @saifsalomy7507
Does it looks nice ? or should use concrete paint or part epoxy
  • @BlogTornado
Thanks for the brush tip. I also have half a concrete porch vertically. Is it going to stick to it? Is it ok to apply without etching since it has a coat of freshly put /Cement All /Rapid set cement on top. Thank you.
  • @jgweatherford
Can you use this on an already painted concrete surface?
  • @saulgoodman2018
$50 a can, or $28 for their porch and patio paint and Rust-Oleum Anti-Skid Additive for $8. So would have been cheaper. Would have been $70 cheaper. And would have gotten the same results. Next time you paint, pull the tape off right after you do the cut in's, it would be a lot easier to take off.
  • @gazalakhan6484
I did not like it it was just thick and did not go on floor smooth so I mixed it with concrete paint came out great. Not smooth has sandy feel not slipping
  • @BlogTornado
Looks nice. Good job. Did it ever rain while drying.?
  • @FuryanHeart
Would you buy this again? How many gallons did you use?
