Don't Hate, Decorate!! Give that dull porch or patio NEW life with a coat of Behr Premium Floor Coating. Through a lil trial and error I came to the conclusion that my way was easier than their directions. Overall I am impressed with the outcome and love the new look. Prepare the surface prior to applying the new coating and you too can achieve great results.

My porch is around 80sq. ft.
2 gal. of Behr Premium floor covering @ 45.00 ea.
The Porch was painted red prior to all the prep and a few spots were left. After the 2nd coat onlt a 2ish square foot area i saw some red still bleeding through so when i do the walk way ill do another coat on that spot. But for about $150, for the walk way and porch, the look is worth it to go from drab to WOW!

  • Great job scraping to prep the surface. After scraping you should have used the Behr #880 Bonding Primer. After the bonding primer dried apply 2 thin coats using a 1/4 adhesive roller. Granite Grip is meant to be layered in multiple thin coats. 1 gallon covers 50sq ft with 2 coats. 3rd coat if necessary. Finished product looks good!

Finally!! Someone with the same type of surface as I have. I will definitely have to scrape it first. Thank you dear sir.

Yeah pouring it out on the floor and spreading it around works best! I’m almost finished.

best video about painting concrete...your advice about just pouring it on the floor and just roll it it is great thanks ...
  • Great video! I’m going to do this to my garage. But like always I review everything first. You cracked me up with the preparation H comment 😄

Looks like it turned out pretty good. I'd be happy to give this a try on my front porch. Glad to know there is no need to waste time pouring it in the roller pan.
  • Thanks for the video. My plan is to paint an old patio too, one with at least two (very old) coats of paint. So...I will be scraping the entire section first; followed by pressure cleaning; then it's on to applying the paint. If there is a primer available, I will use the primer first instead of using the coating first. As you say, "preparation" is the key to getting the desired results!

Good job...I love how you stress preparation. I think it's that way for just about any worthy effort especially painting and anything with a brush. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Hey Shack, thanks for the video. I used your technique of pouring it and spreading it and that worked great for me on my driveway. 2 coats took 8 gallons but the driveway looks so much better!
