It would be nice if Behr answered the questions submitted by viewers. I bought a gallon of the gray (650) back in 2020 and applied it to two steps and a landing in the garage, to make getting into and out of the house safer. Didn't use a roller but applied it with a brush on verticle and horizontal surfaces, making sure that I stirred the can often. Two coats and the stuff worked beautifully. It has not degraded in three years. Total area covered by the gallon was approximately 25 square feet with a third application to finish the gallon this Fall, to deepen the texture.

My major complaints are the Gray color dries about three shades lighter than what is pictured on the can and in pamphlet and the area coverage claimed is 2 times more than what I got. I got one coat out of 2 gallons on 100 Sq ft smooth concrete patio.

This product works and is pretty amazing. But as you know, it's super thick. So a paint tray is useless. You're gonna have to pour it on the surface, then push it around. From there you can start using the paint roller through it. Be prepared to use alot of cans. Took me 8 cans for a 350 sq ft patio.
  • Currently using this on an outdoor pebble stone floor that has existing paint on it. I had to cut in with 3 very heavy coats. Now I'm using the roller they suggested & so far the first coat went on extremely thin. It'll take atleast 3 coats to cover. Not worth the $350+ it costs for a 5 gallon bucket of this product. I will let yall know how it turns out.

Planning on using Top n Bond to fill in cracks then the Granite Grip - hope that works.

I have vinyl siding next to the concrete surface so Muriatic acid won't be able to be used. What ELSE will clean the concrete sufficiently? The surface had a carpet on it before and every time it gets wet that area shines so I'm guessing there's an adhesive still on the concrete.

How about an interior version? ie: Kitchen, living room

I chose and bought three $55 gallons of the Autumn Mountain color because I wanted a darkish black granite look on my patio concrete slab. After two coats the color is nothing like the pamphlet!! It has the sandy texture but the color is basically (slightly peachy) the same as my gray concrete prior to the two day prep and back breaking painting I did. Not recommended.

i have a fairly new bushed concrete surface that i originally sealed with drylock. can i simply degrease/wash and apply this product, or will i need to muraic acid it?
  • @binthrdonthat
Just get concrete, masonry and stucco paint and add sand
  • It took 3 coats on stamp concrete & a lot of patience the roller works but it comes out best if you hand brush. My husband wants to kill me for starting this project.

INTERIOR CONCRETE... And there's some question about suitability for even THAT apparently

This is a complete nightmare. It doesn't matter how you apply. It never gets a uniform color one gallon only covers like 15 square feet

I was trying to use this product today , temp was around 65.... did not work so good paint was getting sticky and the "paint" start drying too fast on the roll and I was using a lot of paint , paint when its little hot, also if you go very slow and painting heavy . it will look ok on the 2nd coat. but I think its going to need 3 coats .
  • @Ipadmariquita
I have a couple of questions, do I really have to use the muriatic acid ? You see I want to use this granite on a place that I have a lot of plants around, will the acid kill my plants when the water runs all over when I rinse ? By the way I love your video !!!thank you.
  • I have used this product it very tricky to achieve uniformity on the surface and yes its not cheep. the product is over priced do to the multi layers it with need to ensure good result's. there's a trick to assist color solidity results in big improvment . 😉 done right it looks really good

Question: this is not for vertical surfaces can you match the color of galaxy quartz with an outdoor paint for the sides of my slab?
