Thank you for the informative video. My dad also died 20 years ago of metastatic melanoma. It was misdiagnosed by a dermatologist as being just a cyst. Years later my mother had a suspicious mole biopsied and it came back benign. Later that mole began to change and I took her back to the dermatologist and insisted on another biopsy. This time is came back as melanoma in situ. Thank goodness I insisted. That was 11 years ago and she is fine. So, even if a biopsy is done, it can evolve and became malignant later. Now I always insist that the dermatologist remove the whole legion when they do a biopsy.

My sister passed 1 week before her 50th birthday from malignant melanoma. She had a spot on her leg that she asked her doctor about for 8 years he said it's nothing because she hated to go out in the sun. 8 years! By the time the doc referred her to a derm, they gave her 6 months to live. She suffered for 9 months.

Best and most to the point in which a person can understand, video regarding types of skin cancers! The others could learn from you! Most of these skin cancers videos are long and drawn out and you cannot understand most of what they are saying. Thanks so much! During 2023 I've been diagnosed with 8 separate squamous cell carcinoma and it's not over yet. Much thanks 😊!

Genuine question why do people have these moles for years and years and as soon as they get it looked at they seem to die within the year?

Thank you. My grandfather passed away from malignant melanoma on his head from what we always thought was a large mole. My mother talked him into seeing the doctor years before she received a call from him one day complaining of severe abdominal pain to he was hospitalized. It was the melanoma that had spread ultimately to his brain, bone and every organ of the body. My mother cared for him at night, had a nurse during the day when she was working and I came home from college on the weekends to give her a break. Apparently the original physician diagnosed melanoma but I, personally, am not aware of the doctors instructions and treatment program suggested. Mom and I have multiple moles which we both have had checked, some removed and diagnosed as a veruca (caused by human papilloma virus - HPV). It's been several years now and I must have them checked again. Thank you for the reminder.

Thank you. I'm fairly sure I have some form of skin cancer. Was blown off by my Hmo for wanting to be seen in dermatology. Told to use 5FU cream. I wish I had been assertive and insisted on the referral. I have non healing intermittently bleeding crusty lesions on different parts of my face. I'm no longer with Hmo insurance(couldn't afford any longer). Signed up for Veterans medical benefits. Going to see my Veterans Administration doctor next month for a physical and I hope I'm not too late, but will be insisting on dermatologist and from there a biopsy. Thank you

You left off itching..I just had two moles biopsied...on my butt ...no sun there. They just itched insanely. Dr said they are nothing, I said please biopsy . He did and the call came today. Cancer.

My squamous cell carcinoma on my arm had a little white horn thing coming out of it. Not knowing it was cancer, I kept picking it off until my daughter told me to get to the doctor. My PCP immediately sent me to a dermatologist who identified it and took it off. I wish I had not picked at it and maybe it wouldnt have needed as much taken off. It wasnt huge but big enough to leave a scar.

Dude, squamous cell and basal cell carincoma literally got the same explaination. Both can be raised with central crater which can be an open lesion. Pls help I’m confused. Thank you
