Today, we're going to be doing some Procreate logo design!

My Assets are from Adobe Stock ► First Month FREE: bit.ly/AdobeStockTrial

Tools Used ► Adobe CC : bit.ly/AdobeCCLink

The Process
----------------------
In this logo design tutorial, I'll give design critique for the logos you guys submitted. We will go through the entire logo design process: color, typography, hierarchy, and overall theme. Each logo will be redesigned in an effort to improve upon these aspects.

I'll be using Procreate on my iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil and occasionally Illustrator CC to create the logos. Everything will be designed from scratch, including: choosing fonts, picking color schemes, coming up with logo design concepts, creating custom illustrations, and ensuring all of the logos meet their intended use cases and goals.

Hope you guys like this new batch of Logo Redesigns! Had some really cool submissions. Don't forget to share this video if you liked it!

The old voodoo logo gave me a premium clothing brand vibe. Loved your matching redesign ❤️
  • 5:44 in the original logo, the eyes were different colors. I think if you made one eye a swirl and the other a button it would've been cool. But 2 years 2 little and 2 late
  • @JD2jr.
I think the new Voodoo text is sorta difficult to read too, so it would have been nice to try and just incorporate their old text-only logo at the bottom. Both because it looked nicer, and to make it feel less like a "throw it all out and start over" of an established restaurant.
  • Found the voodoo ( original block text ) really hard to read “VOOOOO” and the final reads like VOXDOO to me. Love the redesign just what I thought ! Love the series! I thought maybe you would clean up the original letters leaving maybe a tiny bit of embellishments but I get what you mean about the menu, really changes the initial impression of what the restaurant will be like going from fancy to fun

For the bulldog, I do wanna say, that was a logo for a sports team, and they usually have one defining colour.
  • Hey Brandon, thanks for redesigning my logo and featuring it in your video. I really like your take on the Bulldog logo. It really is more aggressive now and overall a huge improvement. Especially the eyes are way better now. I really struggled with those. The only thing i would try to change is the skin fold (I dont know how its called in english) of the Bulldog. I think I have motivation to work on it again. And I really love the redesign of the first logo. Its impressive how digital hand-drawning with brushes completly changes the look and feel of the logo. I might get myself a draw pad too.

I love that you have a very identifiable aesthetic. You like thick lines and curves, and bubbly, rounded letters and images. Very cartoony but in a gritty way

One thing i've learned in my 11 years of digital art and logo design is that there is not good or bad. Every designer has it's own way of seeing things and it's just a matter of taste. So for whoever is out there thinking what they are doing is bad,IT'S NOT! You are doing great, keep your own style and be unique!

Wow I’m so impressed of your redesigns! Especially with the bakery logo. You just removed some parts and put it together differently and then it looked 10 times better than the old version :o
  • @lukedav
    Please bring this series back!
  • @Lumpus_
IMO the original Voodoo logo was way more interesting and cool than the redesign. I understand the problems with readability but it could've just be solved by color and/or line thickness
  • I like your redesign of the voodoo logo and your reasoning is all sound, but that original logo is too damn dope as is
  • @redron2350
The first logo is mega cool ! It would be great as a book illustration or something other than a resturant honestly, so i think the one you made fits more the vibes

Every time I see the before and after, I can't help but audibly say "wow" haha. Great work again, man! I'll have to submit for next time!
  • I felt more could have been with the Upper Crust bakery logo. The simplification removed a lot of its character. The contrast is gone, and the eiffel tower theming is gone.
  • Wait… so this is the guy who keeps simplifying all the logos!
  • I can't get my eyes off of the bulldogs logo! You are an incredible designer and a HUGE inspiration for me and other designers! Please continue this series!! I BEG YOUUU
  • @janettmarie4013
This was really interesting! I’m planning to major in graphic design so watching these videos have been really informative, I def see why you make the changes and can agree to them!
  • @courtcrea.
You're design skills are just out of this world. Simple adjustments, but cleverly thought out. Brilliant!
