The Apple TV is Underrated.

The Apple TV 4K is underrated. The Apple TV is the best media player on the market, with a huge amount of potential for extra growth and some great hidden features which make this a stand out product. Compared to any other competition product it offers far more value for money and potential longevity. But why should you pick it over a smart tv with a built in App Store? Well I'll tell you why. This has more power, apps, and the ability to stream games from your PC or the cloud. That is why I think the Apple TV 4K with Ethernet is underrated.

One of the best things about the Apple TV 4K, compared to Roku, Chromecast, and Fire TV, is there’s no ads on the home screen or throughout the UI

One thing I want to mention about lifespan is that the original 4th gen Apple TV launched in 2015 and is still getting software updates, including the new tvOS 17.

I think two great features that weren’t mentioned in this video are 1. the ability to type on keyboards using connected iphones / auto enter passwords. & 2. the built-in remote functionality on iphones that can be accessed through control centre. So anyone on the wifi can control the tv from anywhere even if the remote is lost.

the first apple tv 4k is the only apple product, or only tech product ever, Ive used every day since I got and Ive never upgraded. loving it

I started with one but now almost all our tvs have them. Love the integration with home. Also love how seamless it was to set up with my home theater system. The Siri Remote turns on the tv, the Apple TV, and the receiver, switches inputs and STILL is faster than Roku loading one app.

I do wish the gaming aspect was fleshed out and supported in a more robust way from Apple. I'd love to see what an Apple gaming controller looked like.

The calibration tool is great, it makes such a difference to picture quality even though my Samsung was already in filmmaker mode.

Great video! You nailed it about the smart tv stuff, this is what I always tell people who don’t understand why I never use the TVs built in stuff! Also I loved this set, looks amazing!
  • @MABACTS
    Agreed! I absolutely love mine!

That's an excellent review and listing the features, instead of other channels on YouTube that keeps bashing on it. To be honest I own one and I didn't know it supports Steam Link.

I’d highly rec going into the settings and turning the remote touch pad down to its lowest sensitivity. Might seem a bit slower at first but it allows you to be way more deliberate with your swipes.
  • I’ve used Rokus, firesticks, chrome casts and Apple TVs. The Apple TV was the best by far. No buffering and better picture quality and sound.

I bought mine for the Zwift cycling App which works really well with excellent graphics for the fraction of the cost of a gaming pc

I use the ATV4K with 2 OG HomePods as speakers for my Beamer, love it :)

I dig that you reply to a lot of your comments. Great video! Tbh, I never thought about gaming on my Apple TV.

Good review of the product. Thank you!

Great video. You should also include what changes that IOS 17 will bring to the table. Looking forward to its release.

Honestly, the colour calibration feature is so cool. I was looking into getting ATV to replace my VERY old mini pc for plex and steam link.
