  • In a hilarious turn of events, I think Microsoft should make a smart speaker running a version of ChatGPT and some voice recognition software.

It looks like a candle — but it burns money instead of wax.
  • @wynos0
It’s quite a different story here in Finland, because Siri is the ONLY virtual assistant that understands Finnish. So the HomePod is by far the best smart speaker that is available here in Finland 😄

I've been trying to figure out my Bluetooth latency issues and ive been having so much trouble finding a YouTuber that spoke clearly and made it easy to read lips and you're the only person I've found that enunciates everything so clearly that you can literally see every word you're saying. Amazing. Thank you
  • Got me at “If you want to hear how bad Siri is in cristal clear high definition then this is for you” 😂😂
  • @geebster.
Wow the improvement in the way it stains wooden tables is amazing!! That's some Apple engineering right there. Now you can tell what model of Homepod someone has just by looking at their tables.

I trust your reviews and love even more that my son has someone like you as a model for what he wants to do in life! Thank. You.

I still have my original HomePod OG’s - I picked them up back last year along with a 2nd gen ATV 4K. I would have never paid the original price, but managed to get 2 in mint condition for $150 ($75 each). Still work perfectly and amazing when used as a stereo pair.

An other good effect is that now suddenly 1st gen Homepods can be found way cheaper, as a month ago they were still selling for almost retail price... Now I'll be able to find an used one to pair it with mine and have a very good stereo speaker system for my bedroom !
  • “Steve still loves me, Steve still loves me…”

    That intro was awesome lol!
  • @SubieMooha
Bought a discounted HomePod back in 2021. It sounds loads better than the mini. I wasn’t impressed at how it sounded at the Apple Store but at home it’s amazing! The bass frequencies are crazy good. I hope this gen can get more appreciation.

I have a couple of the original versions set up as a stereo pair and use it with an Apple TV as a speaker and absolutely love it. Glad to see they brought back the big one again.
  • @FreemanLinde
"At least Siri sucks seamlessly on a smart speaker that sounds sweet..." is a brilliant piece of alliteration and deserves more credit than it's getting. 👏🏻
  • @MrGamelover23
That intro was gold, we need more of that kind of stuff on this channel. I see he's been taking notes from LTT intros.

This is a fair and honest review. Siri wasn't even a consideration for me. I purchased the original HomePods primarily as high fidelity audio components that mesh with my Apple ecosystem. So far, they haven't disappointed. And when Apply finally supported home theater with Apple TV 4K, their function expanded considerably. The sound reproduction coupled with Dolby Atmos is remarkable... room-filled spatial sound with impressive deep bass performance. It may not compare to the highest home theater setups, but it'll do a phenomenal job for the price. Even one HomePod could suffice. Whether HomePod 2.0 will succeed is another story. Home Theater capability could give it life if it's recognized by enough people. To the Apple TV owners considering an upgrade, do it. You'll be amazed. :)

"I'll link that episode below the like button". I'm genuinely impressed. Very smooth way to ask people like (and everyone will hear "and subscribe" in their head) while giving them important information. Well done.
  • "Maybe we were too early".

I think that's bang on. $300 was a lot to ask of people for their first Apple smart speaker. Now that the Mini has been out a while and done well, I bet there are quite a few Mini owners out there who have been softened up enough to drop the cash on an "improved" version of that.

Anyone remember Apple's official iPod dock, that was a huge and very heavy hifi quality speaker? I feel like Steve Jobs was behind that and wanted a dock that he personally would want to listen to music through. And that Jobs would have been proud of the HomePod 1 and 2.
  • @omgneal7016
I use 2 OG HomePods for my home theater set up and it sounds fantastic. No plans to upgrade but the threading feature is nice.
  • I had the original homepod, and after 18months it inexplicably stopped working despite being on- after no luck at the Apple Store I did some online research and this was a massive issue that had no fix! I bought a mini to replace it and it’s worked perfectly since. I would imagine the original homepod had some kind of fundamental issue combined with not selling well equalled discontinuing it…
