I review, breakdown and explain Baby Reindeer Netflix. I discuss the TV series based on real events which impacted Richard Gadd. I react to why it was haunting, heartbreaking but also what made it the perfect TV show. I compare the show to the true story and characters such as Martha, Donny and Darien O'Connor.

I’ve lived the nightmare happening in episode 4. It was extremely triggering to watch but absolutely worth it. His speech at the end, when he talks about his shame and blaming himself and how he shouldn’t have gone back is just so spot on. But shame dies in the light, and the more we talk and share our stories the more we heal. This show has been so important to me and has helped me forgive myself a bit. I hope that it does the same for Richard and every other survivor watching.

For someone that wanted to be a comedian, he is a first class dramatic actor. I hope he wins awards for both writing and acting.
  • Something I don’t see anyone talking about at all is that some of the camera shots in the episodes following an attack from Martha have you looking behind characters into hallways, windows, or doorways and you just kind of expect her to be there, stalking Donny. And that is super terrifying. 10/10 series.
  • Baby Reindeer is gonna be in the top 3 shows this year hands down. I started watching it when I went to bed a week ago and I found myself binging the whole thing.
  • We learn that it is not only about stalking but trauma bonding. We know nothing about her past but learn everything about his, his journey to try to escape and how he remains trapped in the false comfort of abuse. Wow a masterpiece, not to mention the brilliant performances ❤

The part about him not reporting Martha without reporting his abuser I felt that a lot. Then the part when he told his parents what he was going through I felt that extra hard

A lot of the topics in the show would usually turn me off, but they nailed it with this show. I knew nothing about it when I started it, and man It was Great! Such convincing acting as well.

I struggled to watch this and had to walk away a few times, this show hits home alot, and it made me cry and depressed for days. I loved this show, it raises awareness to alot of things people don't talk about, and that is what makes it a masterpiece

No one can understand unless they have been through it. It's like mental illness or any condition, everyone feels differently. As well as feeling empathy and compassion for other people, no one is perfect and I feel absolute understanding for how he feels and even some compassion for her. This is unfiltered, unvarnished imperfect humans as we really are. I applaud and appreciate the bravery of this man. The story is compelling, well written, brilliantly acted, and directed perfectly. Watch this on your own or with a friend, you will need a box of tissues. This is exceptional and you will want to binge watch it.

Thank you for putting this show in my radar. The series is a masterpiece. Deserves all the praise.
  • Watched it yesterday. I mean I binged the whole thing.Thought okay this is no1 in the top ten. Must be good then. I ugly cried so hard when he told his parents about everything.

I think this show is so important especially to show how common Men get abused and have a hard time speaking about it and why. Speaking up about abuse should be made common practice and not ridiculed. Like no one is really prepared for that first time and then it’s like why didn’t you do something about it? “I don’t know” is pretty much the perfect answer and that should be okay.

I felt deeply uncomfortable throughout the series, but utterly captivated. The brutal honesty of many hard-to-watch scenes exposed those parts of myself which could deeply relate. In talking through his journey it was like I was being allowed to acknowledge mine but made more special by the fact that it gave pause for me to realise how terribly neglected a man's perspective is on that side of relationships. His self reflection a reminder of the impact our experiences can have on self confidence and self belief, leading to a perpetuation of bad decisions. I love-hated it! What a ride of emotions and frustration and regret, but no regret that I saw this masterpiece. I had to rinse my mind out with mindless entertainment afterwards to escape the despair it left me in. Highly recommend! 😂
