Stalking laws in our country are ridiculous. The amount of people that could have been saved if the laws were better are unreal!

The scene at the end with his father made me cry. "I grew up in the catholic church". That tells it all, unfortunately. Donnie reaches out for a handshake and his dad goes in for a hug.
  • Honestly with this video, basically summarized the series step by step and doesn't do any contrasting or comparing of the real event until the end just to say the scariest thing about the series is that the stalker is still out there, missing the point entirely of the series and not even mentioning the sexual abuse shown in the series by an entirely different character

I don't think he could disguise her so much that she wouldn't know considering he's playing himself, and surely she'd recognize him. Anyway, it was only after I finished the series that I understood the main actor is also the real life victim. I cannot believe he could put himself in those scenarios again, that is so brave.
  • Poor him. It’s a scary experience. I had one but way tamer than this. He was trying to be nice and compassionate but you have to set boundaries
  • “All of which say ‘sent from my iPhone’ at the bottom, despite her clearly not having an iPhone” LMAOOO why did this make me laugh so hard 😂

I had a stalker when I was in college. To say it was a nightmare would be an understatement. It wasn’t until my stalker tried to assault me IN OUR CLASS in front of our classmates and the professor that something was done. He was kicked out and trespassed from campus.
  • This is a very scary situation and very brave of him to show it cause the laws obviously need to change but also how he makes sure that people know she also needs help, serious medical help.

There was no way I could stop watching once I started- binged the entire series nonstop!!!!!! Fantastic show- so sorry he had to experience this
  • This series is gut wrenching, but like a trainwreck you drive past, you can't stop watching 😮
  • When he did that speech on stage and started breaking down. I really felt that. That whole speech was like someone putting in words my feelings about things which have happened to me. I really didn’t expect this series to go the way it did but it was amazing and emotional at the same time

I feel like people miss the fact that he also has made a lot of mistakes ? In the way he wasn't clear with Martha from the beginning, let her interpret stuff even though he knew she was crazy... People seemed to miss the nuances, the fact that he sees himself in her and he urges us to try to have empathy and understand I feel like this is what the last scene is about spoilers when he is crying at the bar, finally understanding how much she interpreted everything, that she projected so much onto him, was so attached because he looked like the only thing that gave her love when she was a child in a abusive household : her reindeer. And as he is crying, the bartender offers him a drink and he looks up to him, and you can see it in his eyes : he gets it ! How a simple act of kindness can mean the world and how, as Martha was very mentally unwell, unstable it started for her a whole obsession.
  • there were some parts very hard to watch. i can’t imagine what the protagonist had to endure. i hope the so called producer got his time in jail as well. maybe part II?
  • I did make it to the end. It got very dark and sad and was unbelievable as a true story at points! The last episode was particularly poignant and I am glad I finished it. My regards to Mr. Gadd. He is an amazing person, actor and writer. Truth is truly stranger than fiction. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who has not watched it yet, but when he makes a "big speech", I would have stood up and hugged him. It broke my heart! - Fellow stalked person. I literally had to move 5,000 miles away to rid myself of my stalker in the early 2000s!
  • The story telling and the flawed characters were so compelling and complex.
  • Stalking is legit scary. It should be taken more seriously worldwide!!! The show looks interesting but I highly doubt my PTSD would let me look at it. Kudos to Mr. Gadd for surviving through it and being able to persevere beyond the stalking.

I just started on the pilot and haven't finished yet. I did watch the making of the series and it's just as wild as the series.
