Porsche GT3RS is NEXT LEVEL ! - but too extreme for the road ??

Porsche 992 GT3RS. If a car like this isn’t theatre I don't know what is, and that's a compliment not an insult.

Yet this isn’t pretending or dressing up, this is motor sport, or as close to that as makes no difference, faster around some circuits than the cup race car this all new 992 GT3RS is not just the icing on Porsches cake of achievements it's the cherry on the very top.

And if Porsche cares how this car drives on the road, and looking at how they’ve presented it that is not a given, they may just have pulled off a crowning act for the GT road car lineage.

And so to discover the GT3RS secrets, and to see how it compares with a standard GT3, why don't you join me, Roger Bailey, for what is going to be a standout performance.

Thank you again to my friend Graham for loaning
his amazing Porsche GT3RS

  • Sorry but GT3 Touring in a PTS colour is all you need ! With a colourful interior not black ! ❤ Less is more !
  • @carfan3762
What is great about your reviews is that reason and passion blend into one pack ! So yes I agree with you and no doubt plenty others that this extraordinary 992 GT3 RS is not the ultimate road car for lack of practicality - this feature being the definition of a 911 - but thank God (or the Weissach wizards) that they have made this machine ! Personally I would say the 992 GT3 Touring with adjustable Sport seats, the manual shift and the nose lift is the answer to your quest. Or, for far less money, the Carrera T. 😎

Another great presentation Roger, well overdue but worth the wait! Amazing cars and tonnes of information to digest, including your infectious superlatives. After a recent 850 miles drive across UK roads this week including motorways, A roads, B roads, traffic jams, roadworks, accidents, diversions etc I could not see the RS as a daily driver. Oh and some fabulous music in the background.
  • Great Video Roger! Love the location shots and the shot of the two cars side by side. You had the perfect day for this shoot! What a privilege! Thanks for sharing!
  • @markfrench2235
Did you read my review on CSC 😂. Great video Roger, you are right, better than std 992GT3 on bumpy roads, with suspension fully backed off. I love mine 😃
  • @stefanmeyer4190
Superb video and a first "normal" review of the 992 GT3RS as far as I'm aware, quite a coup and thanks to Graham for allowing you use his car
  • @MAXREVS
992 GT3 owner reviews a 992 GT3 RS. Great video from someone who knows about the “basic” 992 GT3😎
  • @michaels3897
Always enjoy your videos and have been watching them for quite awhile. The GT3 is a great car, of course, but I would choose a GTS here in Colorado. The GT3 loses over 100hp at my 7000' altitude. Turbos lose basically nothing. Why I bought an M4 Competition after 15 years of Corvettes. BMW's laughable 503 hp is actually ~ 550-560. Can use it all here. That's why I would go with a turbo charged 911, despite how good the GT3 is at sealevel and sounds there as well.
  • @Cars-and-Things
Wonderful video Roger. Love the 992 GT3 RS. It has really moved the game on. Had a good look at the 991.1 GT3 RS in Chester OPC and even that looks fantastic. It looks like any RS is a highly desirable thing

Why do people constantly bring up phrases like "tOo eXtReMe fOr tHe rOaD"? This car isn't made for the road, it's time to get your head around that finally. The only time this thing should be on the road is when driving it to an actual track so you don't need to trailer it there.
  • @jon8687
800kg of down force would require significant engineering to ensure the components could handle that kind of load. Of course, this is a Porsche so that is a given! Thank you for another enjoyable video Roger.
  • @markbauwens8033
You are wise not to mention your lack of any race experience or to express any opinion as to the track car attributes of this model or its track adjustability. We all use the "-4" road setting. What you completely fail to mention or apparently understand is car balance. Whilst the aero balance is fixed 30/70 f/r the OE understeer can be transitioned into oversteer either by adjusting f/r compression/rebound or by adjusting the locking diff which is something only a very experienced race driver or engineer should attempt. (That's why 992 RS press cars are not available for roadtest on the public road) On your own GT3 the aero balance is adjustable and the benign understeer can be reduced by increasing front downforce. Above 90MPH this change can be felt by a good driver. Below 90MPH no aero changes made can be felt in the RS. By adjusting the diff in the RS, understeer can be reduced and transition to oversteer.
  • Great video Mr. RB. So... After crooning after the GT3RS, are we going to see you change from your light blue GT3 to a GT3RS? And I honestly think we need to see you getting yourself to the Nürburgring Nordschleife in your GT3 for a blast. That video would be quite epic. Hope Jilly's OK and on the mend? My best wishes go to her for a speedy recovery. 🤞 Your No1 stalker ;-))...
  • @jonfrench7133
It just looks a little over contrived, gt3 much cleaner. But hey, i’ll never get near either so hats off to porsche for leading the way on defining what a sports car is
  • @original2758
Ditch the fender add ons, the extra air inlets on the hood... keep the wing height/active components but revert to the classic style as opposed to "swan neck" and I think it would look cleaner; less busy. I could also do without the colorful rims... Still looks great and I assume in person it probably looks better than on camera 🙂
  • @eric.frasch
I want the gt3 to get all of the suspension tuning knobs! Hopefully for the 992.2!
  • @thedrivebygg
Roger the quality of the video in this video is probably the best I’ve seen, what’s the secret kit?
  • Good video and review - nice to meet and chat with you at the CSC May event - still not seen one of these yet in the flesh - sure will soon
  • @911aircooled5
Brilliant review yet again Roger. I totally respect your view point(s), for a few reasons. Firstly, ther narration and real world use. Two, I know that you use your GT3 like I do (daily, occasional trackday, etc), Three, you understand the product, and this goes a long way. Some Youtubers don't get the Porsche product line up and then just complain,.....oh it too hard,.....it's too big, etc etc. You keep it real, well done, thanks for sharing.
