Porsche 992GT3 Manthey - too extreme for the road? GT3MR review

Published 2023-04-14
This is no ordinary Porsche 992GT3, this is a GT3 which has been fitted with a Race Kit to make it even more devastating around a track

And the name of Porsche's race partner?

It's one which we are going to hear more of, it is - Manthey Racing.

But how does a car with a Manthey Racing conversion handle on a public road? what if it's so extreme you couldn’t even drive it to that circuit?

And who do we discover is a leading approved installer of Manthey Racing kits, not in Germany but here in the uk?

Well why not join me Roger Bailey to figure all this out..

So so good to have you back RB. You have been missed. A wonderful review and overview, great content and thoroughly enjoyable. Fingers crossed for a lottery win this weekend and then its a 992 GT3 MR for me !!!

excellent video Roger, very interesting thanks

Great to see a video from you, always enjoyable. Very good review, and would have watched more if it was longer. You know these cars well, so a indepth review of all 3 would have been good.
  • Is it really worth paying an extra £50,000 just wo wipe off 4 seconds over a near 13 mile track of the Nurburgring? I'm sure for Porsche it is. But for the average Porsche driver? Hmmmm...!? I have a nagging voice in my head about fools and money. However. I'd be more than happy with any GTS 911. Preferably a convertible or better, the Targa. They seem to fit my sweet spot for comfort and performance for my aging body. But it's great to see you back Mr. RB. It's been a long time. First one this year. I trust you and Jilly* are both fit and well? Your No1 Stalker ;-))... * I've just seen the end titles. I hope Jilly gets well 8-))...

The MR knocks of 15sec+ for normal driver around the ring simply bc it’s more accessible and easier to drive

Good evening Roger From Hong Kong International Airport! Hope you are doing well. Nice to see a new upload after little a while.

Welcome back, Roger! Great film as always, matey. You really have the bad habit of making me want to buy every car you review! 😂Have you seen the new Porsche Dakar? Looks perfect for Britain's roads fortunately/unfortunately...?!
  • @StratTones
No way I’d pay 50,000 for a 7-10% stiffer suspension. If I wanted a track only car, I’d buy a track only car. This is way too high for what you get. 2 Kinards, $300 real Cost carbon fiber wing and coil overs almost identical to stock.
  • Great video Roger… I hope to be back to some videos myself in time… all the best Dave
  • excellent review, its first ive seen on road rather than on track and its very interesting to hear the road manners are ok on a MR, makes it more appealing, is it just Porsche Chester fitting these kits in the UK?
  • How’s the Spyder going Roger? Are you still enjoying it after driving those exotic GT3s? Best wishes from Sydney, Australia.

Thanks Roger for another vlog that drives that lottery win😀

Wow perfect car, only thing to change is remove the towing eyes for the road, feel sorry for anyone needing to use them on the track 😂
  • I almost assumed the MR kit would badly affect road usage but clearly it doesn't, great video Roger
