  • I hope they are able to find and identify everyone that's missing. There's nothing worse than not knowing if your loved one is dead or alive.
  • @olgasome2881
Prayers to all of you. My heart breaks for those lives lost and those that lost everything.🙏🏼

Being from Louisiana with direct hit from hurricane Ida I would have left as soon as it was coming my way. After Ida I never want to experience another ever

Florida is a beautiful state to visit as tourist, but it is a terrible choice for retirement for obvious reason like this.

In events like these you see the best in humanity.. and sadly some examples of the worst.
  • my boyfriend and his family are in a bnb right now, theyre not sure of the damage yet and im so scared for them. so happy theyre all okay. i hope their houses are fine :(
  • @barbarapeller
It is heartbreaking to know that many people may have gone into the sea. May God have mercy on us all.
  • I'm pretty sure that Florida residents could use that $12M right now, governor.

Seeing the devastation should be a wake-up call to everybody. From Hurricane Andrew State of Florida got tough building codes, and it is my sincere hope if people still want to live right next to the big ocean waters, it would be mandatory to build on 20 feet stilts to allow the heavy mass to flow underneath and take away the impact of the moving mass to the structures, just like in Key West. Florida's West Coast is stunningly gorgeous paradise, but State's Governor's statements about "once in a 500-year event" are both ridiculous and clownish, at best. There will be another event within the next 10 years, perhaps a number of times within that time period, possibly a stronger Hurricane than Ian was. Safety is job #1, and building on stilts is the way for people to keep on enjoying the unique, beautiful sub-tropical paradise. "Once-in-a-100-year-", or "Once-in-a-500-year-event"-statements do not reflect the new normal.
  • there was the thought about moving to Florida but with the high housing market prices and devastating hurricanes we'll stay in San Antonio Texas . the gulf is only 2hrs away it's not worth to deal with the threat of hurricanes every year.
  • @Starfish2145
People who could leave and didn’t are idiots. People who *couldn’t leave are victims
  • It is more than ridiculous to refer to these storms as one in 500 years, 1 in 1000 years, when they occur annually now, perhaps not striking the same region every year, but they are occurring annually or more frequently now. My friend lives in Manilla, Philippines and that region has been devastated by numerous category 4 and 5 hurricanes over the past several years.
  • This really sucks but like seriously, why do people continue to live along hurricane routes? I know beaches are cool and for some strange reason people like Florida but this is what happens.
  • @np100
When told to evacuate, DO IT! Or don't live on an island.
  • @andyx6248
Why didn't Trump use his Mind Powers and reclassified the Hurricane to the Best Summer Day.
  • I hope everyone is doing okay. I’m so sorry about devastating in Florida.
