  • Former Floridian here and let me just say this is incredibly upsetting. Like how do the residents even recover from this? By the time the city is rebuilt it'll be hurricane season again. Very sad.
  • I'm from Miami, Fl and went through Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Now, I live in Orlando and just went through Hurricane Ian. I'll tell you this, the "anxiety" knowing that hurricanes can bring tornadoes, atmospheric pressure, debris, and massive flooding is unsettling for hours on end. Your life hangs in the balance and by the grace of God, I'm still alive. 🙏🙏🙏

5:55 “my house is gone.” The simplicity of that statement, yet it’s still so heavy. It’s crazy how everything can be ripped from you in a matter of seconds. Praying for survivors and the lives that were lost ❤

I'm in South Florida and was spared the worst. My heart goes out to the people further up in Florida who have suffered devastation from this hurricane. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

My son lives in Fort Myers, he evacuated out of state to my house. He is lucky his house has minor damage, but they know so many who lost it all. My daughter in law worked on Sanibel Island. My son went through hurricane Katrina with us as a teenager and knew to get out. No two storms are the same and if you are faced with a storm this bad just get out, just because the last storm didn't harm you does not mean the next one wont. This video reminds me of how the Mississippi coast looked after Katrina, Just heartbreaking.
  • Northeast Florida resident here. Even if we got spared from the worst, that night when it reached us and lost power at 3 AM, hearing the wind and rain in the middle of the night scared me so much. I'm praying for everyone who got worse impacts. I'm glad I'm moving up to Tennessee or Alabama next year or so. I know Florida was my childhood because of going to Orlando for the theme parks but I think it's time to move soon. just don't know when.

Lived several years on the island & to say I'm heartbroken would be a understatement, what a beautiful community to live in or visit. I'm ready to move back right now & help rebuild & do my part ❤️

same here we just had a category 5 typhoon here in the philippines last week 180kph sustaining wind and 240kph of gust wind, before it was just an ordinary typhoon in less than 24 hrs it became a category 5 typhoon, these typhoon or hurricane is getting stronger, this climate change is getting worst every year. Prayers to those affected by this hurricane.

Keep in mind the news was telling people it was going to hit Tampa Bay until a day or 2 before the storm was going to hit. For some people it wasn’t enough time, like the elderly or even people who didn’t think it was going to be bad. Either way I’m praying for everyone like my aunt who we haven’t heard from in Estero, Fl next to Fort Myers. This was a no joke storm. (Edit, she is safe just the whole street is a river and has to be evacuated but hoping it goes down soon thanks for the love 🙏🏽)

My Aunt is working at a hospital in Fort Meyers. She's been there since Tues..not allowed to leave until tomorrow morning. She will then find out if her house is still standing. She lost everything in Hurricane Andrew.. Homestead, FL. My brother is retired military and is out doing rescues with a team. So sad and horrific
  • I'm praying for everyone affected by this storm, I'm in England and I couldn't imagine having to go through something like like. Stay safe guys
  • I'm so sorry to all the people, animals & businesses that are caught up & affected by this hurricane Ian. After all the BS that has been life for the last 2yrs & the knock on effects of all of that, this must just feel like another nail in the financial coffin. Good luck to you all, GOD BLESS
  • Praying all the people in FL is well and gonna be recovered it all soon. 🙏
