“Racial reckoning” is right up there with, “our thoughts and prayers” Trite and hollow
  • 8:21 When Frederick Douglass returned to the US, someone noted that he would be back in time for the 4th of July festivities. When invited to join the celebrations, he declined noting that it wasn’t his Independence Day.
  • The fact that all of these media outlets literally are reading the same scripted terms should tell people something.

Does anyone else find it extremely disturbing how coordinated politicians and mainstream media are on the use of phrases and buzzwords?
  • @neverlistentome
It's amazing how all those news networks use the exact same phrase...

Omg, that 'what kind of fucking candy do you eat' had me wheezing
  • "Racial reckoning" When every news organization repeats the same exact line it makes me wonder if one person writes the script for all of them.

"We have got to talk about it," she says as she actively shuts down conversation about it. Lady, a dialogue has two people talking. A monologue has one.

My family is half black and half white,we all love each other very much. We have many black and white friends. We were raised to not be prejudice. We even have Asian people in our family. I can’t stand a racist.

"we never have a dialogue about race" NPR, after 40 years straight of constant programming on race

People should know more about James Baldwin. Such an eloquent speaker. His speech, at Oxford I believe, was so captivating you could hear a pin drop.
  • Absolutely, since 1852 Preach John Preach ... BUNG !!! 💯🎯🗣️🤔🔵

"racial reckoning" seems very much like "Palestinian reckoning" .. i wonder why 🤔

I always thought I was white (with a tiny bit of Native American) untill I went to an area very hateful to American Indians. I got called squaw, denied service, told to go back to the res, asked if I was in town to buy fire water, spat at, all kinds of crap. When you're in the midst of it then it gets scary. They did show me I have Indian features. I don't want to be around those people, but I'm proud I learned and researched my family. But I could drive away and get away from it. Think of what it is for those who can't.
  • “….sets off white people’s they’re coming for our shit alarm “. I had the pleasure of being homeless on the streets of Chicago, and the true wealth that can be found in some of the “block club” neighborhoods that white people tend to avoid, makes Stewart’s statement that much more profound. Thanks again for all the shows East Side. Kindness is never forgotten.
