Project 2025 is legitimately some of the most sinister stuff we’ve seen and they’re not even being subtle about it anymore.
  • Remember how we all used to call it "unrealistic" when movie villains told everyone their plan ahead of time?

I read about this nightmare in a very thorough article over a year ago when they had a whole BOOTH at an Iowa State Fair. I've been telling everyone who will listen about it. I also know it's a lot so very glad John got to it to add some funnies to make it SLIGHTLY more palatable.

Oliver & his staff have utterly perfected the art of wrapping bitter medicinal truths in savory treats of humor. Glad to see 24 THOUSAND comments to show how many people absorbed the troubling parts.
  • As a German, Trumps vermin speech sent chills down my spine. You cannot possibly get any closer to nazi terminology. The fuck is happening?
  • @L-Ahrairah
As someone in Louisiana, the idea of national hurricane tracking being disolved or hijacked is absolutely fucking horrifying

It’s taken less than 30 years for Levinson’s political satire ‘Wag the Dog’ to come true, not in plot points but in the theme of power grab and control. Back then the movie was touted for being “politically prescient.” Colossal understatement. Today, we know Levinson and his award winning writers to be prophets.
  • Thank you John Oliver for spreading this message. We need to share this with everyone we know
  • There's a quote from south park that fits way too well, here: "Isn't that facism?" "No, cause we don't call it that!"
  • @Izlude84
"Being better than Trump cannot be the standard because Donald Trump is the absence of standards." Is a really good line.
  • I’m blown away. Incompetence is going to be the status quo. Why are we doomed to repeat mistakes? Why do we NEVER learn?
  • @Eudaletism
Those "PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH" posters behind Trump are giving off 1984 vibes.
  • This is what decades of gutting the department of education has gotten us 🤦‍♂️
  • @sirdeadlock
Remember: you're voting for the administration, not just the president.
  • John OLIVER is a gem and I'm so happy to have him and his flawless wit and humor displayed here on YOUTUBE 😂❤

I put off watching this because i knew it would be tough to watch. Thank you all for communicating this with the gravity it requires!

I'm finding it harder and harder these days to tell myself everything is going to be okay.
  • It is so demoralizing that “not enabling a totalitarian dictatorship” is not a bipartisan position.
  • This shit is the most nightmarish "i told you so" for everyone who's been paying attention.

German guy here. And the single good thing coming out of all this mess is that you guys won't ever get to ask us again how Hitler happened. Cause you're doing it right now.
