To whoever said "Kendrick has big English Major energy" in chat, thank you very much it is so accurate and now I cannot unthink that lmao

Canada was seen as the "nice" country while residential schools were still open and operating- hopefully we are on the brink of a major shake up and reckoning but we (yt Canadians) need to stop compartmentalizing all the atrocities that we benefitted from and accept that we aren't better than any other colonized nation.

90’s hip hop kid here! There has never been ANYTHING like this. The East Coast/West Coast thing was a manufactured war to erase the potential of real black excellence, and put a puppet on the throne. That’s all coming out now. But this! This is a whole different kind of history making. This is the first step in a return to rap/hip hop, as a means for activism. Not a continuation of a glamorized narrative of street life, and misogyny, that really does nothing, except harm the community they claim to represent. This was the breaking of a spell. My honest to god, first thought, was, “Tupac would be proud.” Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. ♥️
  • Drake is a predator and a lot of black women have seen it for years but it's just become ambient noise in pop culture, like R Kelly or Diddy. It's a shame it took this for people to talk about it.

Love how kdot told him to not speak on Serena again cause his habit of going after black women ( Serena, Meg, Riri) unprovoked gotta be studied

Canada is one of most heinous colonial genocide histories to date. The fact that Canada still owns most of the mining industries in Africa today means that they still participate in colonial exploitation.

"Kendrick... it's called a bussy" is the best out of context line
  • @mel2d2
The energy with which you said, “I was minding my own business…” exactly correct. And now I’m wide awake connecting the red string boards in my brain. The web is becoming a blanket. My whole mind is blown.

are we thinking kendrick is going for the death of drake or the death of the industry? cuz one of the reasons the sex crimes don't get talked about is because they are not isolated to single celebrities, right? the only people who really get taken down are the middle men who get stupid. i dunno i just feel really unsettled since 'meet the grahams,' there is some current that kendrick is riding that i can't quite get the shape of yet. people keep talking about a moment in history and i'm feeling it, but i don't think the biggest part has happened yet.
  • As an indigenous two spirit person hearing this on mmigw2s day is WILD. Anyway I hope Megan's having a great day & j cole stay 50000 feet away from that man & as a survivor myself imma keep saying "THEY NOT LIKE US". Canada is absolutely just as bad as America in relation to antinative racism and antiblack racism, it's just not talked about often which is a national shame, and it's also a shame when people think this is new but Drake called Megan a liar and plenty of black women were speaking up about it. Kendrick obliterated this man. 😭 "I can go further I promise" is. smth else omfg.
  • Drake's nature has been an open secret for YEARS. How he still keeps friends in the industry and hasn't been cancelled ... well, privilege is the answer.
  • @leenaadams6742
My favorite message of his was actually how drake uses black culture like a costume, collaborating (exploiting) different rappers for street cred, adopting accents that aren't his, claiming hoods he's not from, collecting valuable hip hop trinkets and doodads like a white colonizer... drake is from Canadian middle class and he simply cannot, does not and chooses not to see the plight of black ppl or women for that matter and uses both the unjust systems to profit... as far as I'm concerned he appropriates more and better than most white ppl
  • @DorianMatt
The exasperated 🍃 grinding+sunglasses combo was incredibly real.
  • Kendrick is absolutely using the book "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu as a guide. He obviously had these songs on deck for this exact situation.😅
  • As a South African Kendrick waking me up on this Sunday like when parents blast gospel early in the morning Violent😭😭😭
  • @Happy00Fangirl
It'd be slightly less artistic but just as efficient if Kendrick beat Drake with his shoes.
  • @lnh2448
Striking a cord can be talking with someone (usually developing a rapport and connection) as well. So he's also saying that when Drake is striking a cord/talking with someone, it's probably with a minor.

@2:45 That predator DID in fact say that to Billie Eilish so, the comment from him on her IG page IS REAL. That weirdo has been thirsting for her since she was 16.🤢🤮 How did this get swept under the rug
