Announcer: GIVE. HIM. Me: let me guess, six? Announcer: TWO!
  • @subvet3668
All the negative comments about the announcer. That was the legendary Voice of the Vols, John Ward, he was the radio announcer not tv which is why he was more descriptive of the plays. He was simply the best and a lot of us would turn the sound down on our TV and turn up the radio just to hear him. He was Tennessee thru and thru and he shared our own enthusiasm with our VOLS.

I moved to Nashville in December 1997 from the NYC area. I watched him on television playing ONE GAME and I was a fan for LIFE!!! I KNEW this guy was the Dr. of football!!! In my mind, HE IS A TRUE PROFESSIONAL sports figure.

Those scrambling plays were a lot faster in college 🤣🤣

I love watching these old videos, and it's not really all about seeing Peyton play, but getting to listen to John Ward. What a special person he was. He was, for many of us, our eyes and ears during each and every game. RIP, John Ward, there will never been another one like you. ~Sam

How can anyone not be a Peyton Manning fan? I only wish it was longer.
  • @kevin4209
Man, I forgot how good his legs were when he was younger. He had everything, running ability, deep ball, pocket presence.
  • @simonsaythis
Hope he comes back to Tennessee to coach one day. Would be so cool.

Some generations remember Bradshaw, Namith, Ellway, and Aikman. My generation will remember Manning. The greatest to play the position of quarterback ever.
  • Love hearing John Ward “Voice of the Vols” & Bill Anderson! Go Big Orange!
  • @Guurur
Peyton deserves to be in every hall of fame of football. We dearly miss you - Patriots Nation.
  • I was so blessed to have had the experiences of UT football with John Ward calling the games. Give him six, touchdown Big Orange!
