All rights belong to the Tennessee Titans and the National Football League. Earl Campbell is one of the greatest players in Titans/Oilers franchise history. He is also without a doubt, one of the greatest Running Backs in NFL history. Here's a tribute to the Hall of Fame member of the NFL's All Time 100 Team. Nobody ran it like Earl!

I played against him in high school. We couldn’t bring him down either. Finally assigned one guy to each leg and a third to the rest of him.

What I loved about Earl Campbell was there was no show boating no big end zone dancing just did his job then go sit on his helmet on the sideline until needed again. Very modest great player. All the hard hits he gave out took its toll on him physically. A true gentleman and great athlete.
  • Earl Campbell was the most bruising, entertaining and unfortunate running back of all time. He had the misfortune of playing in the same division and at the same time as the “Steel Curtain” Pittsburgh Steelers with not much in the way of a supporting cast. He gave his all to the game and has suffered great physical calamity due to his unyielding desire to carry his teams to victory. I’ll always say I never saw a more impressive runner in my life and I’ve been an NFL fan since 1970. A great Hall of Famer and a true gentleman.

Earl Campbell is my favorite running back of all time, hands down. I showed my son this clip and he was in awe. He had never heard of EC. I told him that he is the only running back that I NEVER saw run out of bounds when a linebacker or anyone else was bearing down on him. You either bring him down, get ran over or dragged! LOL Hats off to the greatest running power back of all time, the Great Earl Campbell!

Earl was such a nice guy..he would sometimes carry the other team players with him for a touchdown..just so they knew what it was like

I saw him years ago signing autographs at my job. They brought him in a wheelchair. I couldn't help but to think that football did this to him. All the great moments he gave me as a child and countless others culminated into what I saw that day. As a former footballer myself I was saddened. The effort and sacrifices he made to give us these great highlights is unimaginable.
  • I love how he makes an amazing run or touchdown and DOESN'T generally showboat by dancing, spiking the ball comically, taunting the opposition disrespectfully, sliding on the ground 10 ft, arm on chin for a photo op. Simply does his job on the gridiron and is ready for the next assignment. That my friend is a "professional" football player.

It still seems like Earl Campbell is underrated. Unbelievable power, speed and agility.

Just as important, Earl is a true Southern Gentleman. Loves his mom, family & god.

Something you can see Earl do that a lot of modern backs seem to forget is he switches the ball to the outside so the defenders can't hit it. He was fundamentally solid in every aspect of his play.
  • If you had a chance to be alive when he was at the University of Texas and then the Oilers, these highlights were just a sliver of his greatness. He was amazing to watch, that power, competitiveness and surprising speed. He was, simply, a LOAD.

About 4 years ago I found out that I'm actually related to Earl Campbell. I met him when my Grandma, Gloria Campbell, passed away. I had no idea he played for UT and that he was a Heisman Trophy winner. I didn't know anything about him, but it was nice to meet him even under the sad circumstances. My father, Dedric Washinton Sr., Is the son of Letterman Campbell who is Earl Campbell's cousin. I never got to meet Letterman because he died of cancer before I was born, but it's crazy to know I'm related in some way to an NFL legend.

Earl Campbell once was flagged for roughing the defense. True story. 😁

I watched him in his prime...Greatest power back I have ever seen. Guy was a monster.

36" thighs. Probably the strongest legs of any player in NFL history. An absolute beast.
