*At the 5min mark, I say 1.5g phenanthroline monohydrate, but 5g is written. It is indeed 1.5g though.
About a year ago, I saw one of the weirdest reactions that I've ever seen. It was called the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction, and it's one of the few good examples of an oscillating chemical reaction. I decided to try and do it myself, and this video summarizes the process that I used.

I have also covered another type of oscillating reaction: • Recreating the Briggs-Rauscher oscill...

This channel has taught me that 95% of chemistry is just waiting for something to happen.

i don’t know why him saying “dirty garden store quality” sounded so aggressive to me
-
And that’s how his profile picture was created🙂

I like how the waves don't seem to cancel each other when they overlap. They turn into each other. I'd like to see it pushed through a double slit and measure the interference it creates.

I remember when I was younger, I thought this is what science class would be like.
-
Me, having close to zero clue what he’s talking about: I like your funny words magic man.
-
I voluntarily chose to do a complete reaction model project on this in my college Pchem class and it was hell on earth.
-
Your narration is awesome. I’ve been a chemist for over 20 years. I now read experimental sections of papers mentally hearing your voice and it is lot more fun than in the past when I mainly heard my voice saying ‘what the @&$ is this guy doing?’ Love what you’re doing.

This man is the physical embodiment of the word "however"
-
A reaction so weird you made it your profile picture
-
The last reaction was by far, the coolest. The blue flashes were so dang beautiful. this is probably my favorite chemical reaction, in terms of visual effects
-
Niles buys so much off Ebay that I wonder if there is a whole grey market of chemists stealing bits of chemicals from work to sell.

FBI: Why are you getting weird chemicals from the internet? NileRed: I wanted to see blue rings

I love it that you explain everything really clearly, making it so even I can /kind of/ understand, instead of just letting it happen. Thank you s2
-
I understand litterally NOTHING when you explain how it works, but it's just interesting enough to watch! Your normal videos aswell as the clips, are fasinating!
-
When he said "about 10 grams for 40 dollars." I felt that.
-
When you rub your eyes to hard
-
This reaction is so amazing, that even the "bad" ones are still stunning.
-
i’m so happy you kept all your tries in, all the different effects are amazing!!
