"For this run, I simply said 'hello.' It immediately decomposed."
-
5:35 "but I got impatient, and I kept adding more" famous last words in chemistry

The best part of all of your videos is the part where we don't have to do a lab report on the results.
-
Nilered: "I have finally dedicated myself to making shorter videos." Also Nilered: uploads an hour long video about turning work gloves into hot sauce
-
Manganese Heptoxide: For personal reasons, I will be passing away.
-
Yo want a chip? Manganese Heptoxide: explodes
-
"and it really doesn't want to exist." Mood
-
No Nile, keep the longer videos because I prefer ALL of the details, much appreciate your work!
-
"It seemed fine and by that I mean it didn't explode." is my favorite quote.
-
“It seemed fine so I tried it with a narrowed neck” famous last words
-
Nile: does literally anything "Well i guess I'll just die then"

The coolest part to me is the fact that the smoke coming off the reaction at 3:50 with the second cotton ball makes rings (you can see them better in the slow motion part). I think that's a good testament to how much force is generated by this reaction even after the initial fire goes out bc regular fire does not produce smoke rings, they appear when there's a force behind the air that's pushing them quite a bit.

Anything: touch Manganese Heptoxide: DID SOMEBODY SAY BOOM?

my favorite molecules are the ones which explode almost immediately, because you can see it in the chemical structure and sometimes even the chemical formula itself. in this case it's Mg2O7, which looks like it wants to explode. But if you want to see another chemical like that, the other one I've heard of is Azidoazide Azide, which is C2N14, and basically looks like a precarious jenga tower. Azidoazide Azide doesn't even need the introduction of an extra force (that totally will set it off, but its unnecessary), it just spontaneously explodes.

Someone please sample all these booms and pops and make a drum kit of Nile’s explosions. Please. I want a full song written using his explosions as drums
-
"I've been feeling very manganese heptoxide recently"
-
"It's made by mixing 2 relatively common chemicals" High schoolers: interesting

That micro-mushroom cloud was awesome. You should team up with the Slow-Mo Guys and film some chemical explosions.
-
I miss the good old days when 13 minute videos were considered short.

Not only does the reaction look like a nuclear explosion, but the pieces that fall afterwards look like nuclear fallout.
