The Good and Bad… 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro!

There’s a lot to love about this new 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro… but there’s plenty to dislike too. In this video I’m going to focus strictly on the exterior styling cues and interior bits. Besides, what’s there to hate about 437 horsepower and 583 torque? Hah.

The more I drive this new Tundra TRD Pro, the more I like it. What are your thoughts? Do you agree or disagree on my points?

I’m eager to do a side by side comparison next to my 2022 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro and 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Heritage Edition. Also a video dissecting the differences between this and the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor.

Let me know your thoughts in the comment section. Love hearing what you think.

To all the cry babies out there…. I traded in the Raptor for the Lunar Rock Tundra TRD Pro!! Driving is like night and day!!!

I also wanted to point out that my 2021 doesn’t have any noticeable squeaks and rattles as I drive down the road. The cabin is quiet and the cabin feels solid. I came from Chevy where cheap quality and manufacturing leads to constant annoying squeaks and rattles so this was a nice change.

Great review, And this is why I'm shopping for a 21 Tundra. Every review I watch seem very similar on the gripes , I think they should have kept the Iforce as a option at least.

Literally perfect in my eyes. I would be content with life if I owned this truck. Hoping to get the 2025 one and I’ll own it forever! Im gonna get buried in this thing😂

The 2.5 gens was the best looking Tundra’s ever built. And people who argued about needing an upgrade obviously didn’t appreciate the simplicity of it. More technology doesn’t always mean a good thing. Like the 4Runner. I’m very curious as to when the next generation of that will be released but honestly wouldn’t want one. Absolutely love mine, especially for the simplistic aesthetics of it. Hence why I bought it. I’ve always like the simpler the better. I bought a new Silverado 2500HD Duramax new in 2019 which I currently still own. It’s just a work truck trim and absolutely love it. Has more than enough features in it that I’ll ever need. My only complaint with my 4Runner that I wish it had was vinyl floors like my Silverado! I hate carpet flooring.

My thoughts are this is a lease vehicle, with all the tech and twin turbos. I wouldn’t feel comfortable buying it outright and I’ve never leased a vehicle. I buy and trade every two years. I will be keeping my 21 trd pro for the long haul.

We love a BIG grill and a huge front end 😋 The red interior is bad enough to be a deal breaker. Lucky 🍀 for me, the one that hit my Dealer in north central Texas was black/black! Cool seats 💺 are a must in Texas !

The 2.5 gens are an excellent looking truck. This gen looks like a blown up Tacoma, which works.....for the Tacoma. The wife has seen the 22s on the road and even she has commented that she is glad I got the 21. I'll be keeping my 21 Platinum for as long as possible.

Capstone, 1794, and Platinum have a Black headliner. Huge miss on TRD Pro’s

Informative video! Great work! I like the design of the truck. It works. I just hope the engine/trans will keep up to the toyota name. Also, can you do a POV driving for the landcruiser?? Thanks brother!

Can you talk about the difference between this one and the 2021 in terms of ride and driving dynamics, engine sound etc.? For example I sat in the new one and the old one and it may sound crazy but the old one felt more spacious inside. Maybe it’s just me though.

I’ve seen a few reviews on this truck. My take on improvements for next year model: Tow hooks Tailgate steps Bedliner needs to not be slippery Lose the artificial engine sound Provide better cargo space in backseat Important question: what are you getting for mpg with the hybrid?

Does the light bar really make a difference at night or is it a low quality light gimmick? Also how quiet was the interior any rattles or crackling? I know they used some cheap plastic in certain areas. Thanks

I don’t think the 2022 TRD is a bad truck. It’s got some awesome tech features. I just don’t think it’s worth the price tag for the avg Joe. I bought a 2021 TRD Pro (Built late August 2021) used with only 2,000 miles. It had window tint, rhino runningboards, spray on bed liner and Bakflip trim fold bed cover. For $61,900 plus tax. Ride comfort is fantastic and I smile every time that TRD exhaust growls. I’m getting 15 mpg on average so far. So for someone like me the 2022 Tundra TRD Pro isn’t worth the extra $30k
