2022 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO review by The Straight Pipes. The Toyota Tundra is putting down 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque from a Hybrid 3.5L Twin Turbo V6. At who knows what price CAD, would you take it over the Ram 1500 Rebel, Ford F-150 Raptor?

This Tundra gives me an incredible amount of hope for the new 4Runner.

This thing looks wild. I will 100% getting this in 15 years with 300,000 miles.

Prototype!! I really hope car manufacturers start doing this more (releasing prototype vehicles for review). Such a unique perspective to see what Toyota is working on. Bravo!

Do you know why I enjoy your reviews...? Because you two are actual car/truck enthusiasts. You are prepared with actual data of the vehicle you are reviewing. I enjoy your camaraderie. Keep up the good work. You guys are spot of with your reviews. Thx

You had me at twin turbo. The aftermarket is going to squeeze a shit ton of horsepower out of this bad boy.
  • @NakedBlastoise
I love how all the truck brands are stepping up their game 🔥

😂😂😂…look at the smile on y’all face guys…its funny a lot of talks were made about the Tundra before it comes out…about Toyota this & Toyota that & now I can’t stop seeing the Tundra all over the internet 👀🤣👏🏽

The one thing I like about Toyota trucks is that the modification market is massive, you can do so many modifications with these trucks and many that don't really break the bank.

I feel trucks more than other vehicles have “questionable” looks to start that end up growing on consumers. This one is def growing on me. Genuine enthusiasts modify their vehicles so I’m reserving judgement until we see what the aftermarket comes out with. Other than the wild looks, they knocked everything else out of the park.

I have deposits on a 2022 Raptor and the new Tundra TRD Pro. The Raptor has the truly incredible suspension and cool front end appearance. The Tundra has the superior QDR (Quality, Durability and Reliability) and a hybrid powertrain with better fuel mileage. I can’t wait to see the official EPA fuel mileage figures and MSRP.

So stoked. Can’t contain it. Dying waiting for my 4 runner update!!! Lovin the direction.

Wasn't big on the looks on the first press release, but it's growing on me and I honestly think it will look better in person. As for the updates, the new powertrains sound promising (especially hybrid variant), and interior is a big step up. There are a few things about the user interface I'm not a fan of (but that's true of just about every new vehicle) Now to talk about the elephant in the room - That on board fuel economy readout was 5.2 l/100 km. That's 45 mpg. While I'm sure that's not accurate, I'm curious to see what the real mileage is on this truck. Keep in mind, the hybrid F150 is rated at 24 mpg (city and highway). If this truck can match or beat that mileage with its power advantage and Toyota's legendary reliability (yes, even their hybrids have proven incredibly reliable), the Tundra should be a no-brainer for shoppers looking for $40k+ trucks in the full sized segment.

I’m so glad Toyota finally updated that old ass infotainment system they’ve had before

I really want to see it in person. Cars can look very different in real life compared to a computer screen. For instance, the new Bronco debut a few months ago blew me away. I was in awe. I finally got to see the Badlands version a few days ago. Meh.....wasn't as nice as I remembered.

I got a 99 4runner and a 2019 rav4 hybrid. this could replace both lol. Gonna buy one in 23.
  • @Ja-chevy
Love your review on this!! Nice work guys!!
  • @ThinBlueR1
This truck is awesome! The new body TRD Pro Tundra is going to be my next truck. Toyota definitely came through on this one.
