There are known signs of insulin resistance, and some doctors don't know all 7. Many skin conditions we chalk up to bad genetics and/or bad luck actually have a hidden root cause that can be discovered and corrected. Only by understanding the connection between your skin condition and your metabolic health can you begin to take corrective steps.

Use this video about skin signs of insulin resistance as a guide for yourself and your family; the skin conditions you were told were genetic and chronic/progressive can actually be improved or reversed with a proper human diet.

  • I was 325lbs, had rosacea, and always had “sores” that never seemed to heal. I lost 100lbs doing low carb (keto) and both skin conditions cleared up in a matter of weeks of starting the diet. Not to mention, all my carpal tunnel pain, and all my other joint pains went away. Definitely felt awesome, and knew exactly what “cured” me. Well worth the attempt if anyone is considering it.

I whipped out papers before on my doctor, of research I did online, and she just about lost it. She asked me if I thought I was smarter than her, and I asked her what was wrong with doing reaearch? And she said there was so much misinformation online, and SHE went to medical school, not me. So I quit going to her. But there are a lot of doctors who don't like for their patients to do reaearch... Sad.
  • So... in three months I've lost 60lbs. One word, CARNIVORE! I've been diabetic for 30 years and have all but resolved it. From 200-500 units a day to less than 60. No kidding..... I know I've added YEARS to my life and for the first time in a long time, am looking forward with enthusiasm. Life just got SOOOO good.. !!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I was 240lbs. I stopped eating and drinking processed sugar completely and cut my carbs in half. My skin rashes, hives, acne, joint pain and gi bloating and pain, hard heartbeat and diarrhea just improved largely within a week of changing my diet. It's been over a year and I've lost 93lbs and all of my ailments have healed. My body just generally feels great and my bmi is within normal range now. My quality of life is just so much better than I could've imagined.
  • was very impressed that there was no sales talk. I kept expecting him to say " send $69.95 for our product that people would gladly pay $359 for". He didnt. No. Just human compassion was behind this speech.
  • My sister in law has PCOS and always had all these skin things going on. She's been trying to get pregnant for 14 years too. Not long after starting keto her skin has cleared up and she is expecting her first child in December!!! Update: She came a month early. Their sweet girl had her 3rd birthday party today. She is a wild one and such a funny little girl! And truly a blessing!

When sugar became a commodity all these diseases started to become more and more common 😢
  • My sugar was so out of control that I swear it was oozing out of my pores. I was so itchy, I would scratch in my sleep and wake up with bloody nails. It was absolutely miserable. Tomorrow marks week 10 of cutting all sugar, and my skin is completely clear.
  • @elli003
Treat the disease, not the symptoms. Tired of doctors saying, "I've got a pill for that."

One needs to consider chronic stress as well. Chronic stress is a well-proven, well-known contributing factor to hyperinsulinemia and metabolic syndrome. Chronic stress + poor diet + sedentary lifestyle is a sure way to end up with metabolic syndrome. Correcting the diet and adding activity will help, but might still not be enough if the chronic stress is not addressed too.
  • I had all sorts of skin conditions …. Acne, really bad dark patches around my neck and underarms, even on my hands, really bad scalp issues, dry skin, especially on my feet, and once I started keto, everything started clearing up amazingly. Like magic. I also had severe PCOS and after being keto for a few months, my periods came back, after years of not having one. I’ve seen less facial hair, and I have lost over 60 lbs in four months. My energy is through the roof, my knee and back pains are gone. I could not be more thankful for Keto. Thank you Dr. Berry!!! Next up…. Keto baby!!!
  • @humanyoda
High chronic stress is another important factor in developing insulin resistance.

I'm 33 years old. I had psoriasis since I was about 15. Few months ago I started intermittent fasting and low carb diet. The results were fantastic. My psoriasis practically disappeared and I lost 12kg.

I went to the doctors and found I had an A1C of 11.3. I had new skin tags browning of some skin and I thought it was a yeast infection in my groin that never went away. I started keto and made small steps in lowering my A1C but when I started lifting weights and intermittent fasting, I got below pre diabetes levels in less than a year. I also only dropped 50lbs. I should still lose another hundred pounds but my last test had me 5.3. The one before that was 5.5. One giant meal around 5 everyday. I ate what I could for an hour and then that was it for the next 24 hours. That is when I saw everything change. I have since done random long fasts. It gets easier to go 3 or 4 days without food after being on OMAD for a while. The longest I went without food was 11 days and i can't lie, you do not have a lot of energy during this time but you feel great once you slowly start to eat again. Not saying everybody has to do this, just sharing my experience.
  • I gave up eating wheat flour and my skin tags went away. When it crept back into my diet small tags reappeared, and when I cut it back out of my diet, and the skin tags disappeared again. So I believe this is all true. I also have rosacea, psoriatic arthritis, and more of what you talk about. I don't need any more tests. Time for me to go Keto!
  • My mother has psoriasis, and when she started Keto, her psoriasis expanded further throughout her body. After a few months of investigation and watching Dr. Berry’s videos on the skin topics, plus my moms doctor’s advise (her doctor is great she believes in metabolic health). We started an elimination diet. That meant basically switching to a more carnivore version of the Keto diet. It looks like in my mother’s case she started consuming more of the night shades and spinach, and high oxalate and anti- nutrient foods when she started keto than before she did she started keto. So now that she’s eating mostly fatty meat, supplementing with vitamin D3 11.000 a day plus omega 3 rich diet and supplement. Bone broth and organ meat. He psoriasis is receding. The itching is going away in a matter of 2 weeks.. she’s 68 years old. Thank you for the advise Dr. Berry!
  • I just realized I have no more skin tags!!! They disappeared sometimes during the last 18 months I was on a keto diet. I just checked and they are gone. They were in the back of my neck where I don't check everyday. I also came down fron 325 to 215 pounds since January 2019.

Look, I have not seen a physician in 50 years and I'm not going to do it now. I don't need a test. If there is something wrong, all I have to do is eat right and I've been doing that for 50 years now and I've never had any health issue at all, my energy is high and I'm not overweight. Every day is a fantastic day for me and I don't intend to ruin my life by seeing allopathic physicians. I love talking health with friends who are interested in real health but allopaths turn me off with their bull crap. At 73, I can still do several cartwheels in a row. My friends think that's amazing but it's just part of eating right and exercising. If people would lose their fear of meat, we would all be better off. Pay no attention to Klaus Schwab and his dumb idea about eating bugs instead of meat. Bugs are toxic. Just eat your meat and be healthy.
