IT makes me feel so blessed to still be a live and hear the great comments from all of you young people about our Music. W had lots of fun in those days. Ramsey, Eldee and my self Redd Holt was like Brothers. We had a Partnership, I still perform one Night a week in Chicago at the East Bank on Chicago North Side,Give me a Holler some time. I am on Face Book .

Remembering Ramsey Lewis (1935 - 2022). The Chicago native headed “Ramsey Lewis and his Gentle-men of Swing.” Lewis was one of the nation's most successful jazz pianists, topping the charts with "The In Crowd", "Hang On Sloopy" and "Wade in the Water". All three singles each sold over one million copies and were awarded gold discs. No more problems.

Jazz pianist, three-time Grammy winner, and NEA Jazz Master Ramsey Lewis, who successfully crossed over from the Jazz charts to the Pop charts, most notably with his smash hit “The In Crowd,” died peacefully at his home in Chicago on the morning of September 12, 2022. He was 87.

This is one of THE BEST instrumental versions of any Hit song. My parents had this album, and it was on Heavy-Rotation at dinners, parties, and anytime folks wanted to be dancing - in Cleveland, 1969 ---- NOW. A complete stone's groove of Pure COOL, my kids, and my grandkids all know this song (I came home the other day to hear my 13-year-old g'child blaring this, midday, while bopping around the house). You done good (and from myself, my family, etc.: Thank you).

I heard this on the Sirius Jazz station today & I wanted to stop the car to dance on the side of the highway. Beautiful music!! LOVE!

I had the privilege and good luck to be at the Bohemian Caverns on that Saturday night—the last night of Ramsey Lewis's three-night recording session—when, I believe, "The In Crowd" was taped. My date and I, two fairly unhip young people of the white persuasion, were vaguely aware of some kind of recording activity going on in the background, but for us and everybody else there, the only goings-on that mattered was the Trio and its fabulously soulful and stirring music—a joyful night I've never forgotten.

"The In Crowd" was a big hit in 1965. I remember hearing my mother play this record when I was nine years old.

For me this is quite possibly the most amazing Jazz recording ever, Heard it for the first time when i was about 4 or 5 years old and I've been searching for it ever since. Only took me 36 years.

Rest in Paradise to Composer, Pianist and Jazz Extraordinaire Ramsey Lewis (1935-2022). Thanks for adding greatly to the soundtrack of our lives and for introducing us to the legendary Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire. You will be sadly missed, but your music will endure forever.
