Despite how you feel about the 2007 Ghost Rider movie, it did spawn a tie-in video game. The game takes place after the events of the movie and follows Ghost Rider as he attempts to stop the demons of Hell from taking over the world. Not only do you get to play as Ghost Rider in the game, but you can also unlock Blade as a fully playable character. However, since this was a movie tie-in game, it rushed to meet the deadline of the films release, which hindered some of it's creativity. So in this video, we'll analyze how the game was made, walk through the story, and discuss the best and worst parts of Ghost Rider the game. I hope you enjoy!

This is one of those rare occurrences where the game is actually better than the movie, yet 2000's Marvel seemed to pull it off so often. Actually going to mythical locations, facing off against classic Ghost rider villains like Vengeance and Blackout, coming across Blade ( eventually actually being able to play as him), and comic accurate designs!! you can always tell they cared about the character when playing these games.

The fact they still made Ghost Rider sound like Cage and somehow Blade sounded like Snipes. Excellent.
  • I remember when I was a kid on my psp and unlocking blade was the highlight of my week.

This game is the closest thing they have to my dream game : Marvel Kart Racing. Spider-Man kart shoots webs. Hulk kart grows big. Captain America shoots shields like red turtle shells

Damn, that producer really sounded like he cared about making a fun game and actually paid attention to the comics

Just wanted to say this is one of my favorite new channels I've come across in the last year. I really appreciate someone highlighting these experimental older games before they found their AAA identity. Great video as always. Can't wait for Shattered Dimensions!
  • I noticed how a bunch of reviewers started to review this obscure PS2 Ghost Rider game for some reason. I'd oughta try it. I wish this game could be what the developers envisioned it to be. Bike combat like DMC 5, Wolverine cameo, and a more in depth fighting system. Nonetheless, the game looks like fun, and I'll play it on a emulator sometime.

Garth Ennis is a very hardcore writer if i can say that about him... but probably most of people watching this video know this, I was suprised to have learned he was the writer behind the story to this game! especially reading both of his GR story lines in comic books, whata weird feeling...

How do you go from making games about Spongebob and Power Rangers games to making a game about A fire motorcycle riding skull head character who stares at his opponents and depending on their sins turns them to charcoal

Ah yes, another childhood favorite. Man ps2 Era had many memorable games.

Dude this was one of my favourites when I was a kid. Looking back, this game was pretty high quality, especially if you are young and have rose-tinted glasses for video games. All the flaws were pretty much ignored by 9 year old me.

Man I was having a bad day, but this video really cheered me up always super pumped to see a video

I had so much fun playing this game. Getting all the upgrades and ploughing through the further levels. Such a nostalgia bomb
  • Honestly, I'm just glad this review didn't devolve into calling this game a "Devil May Cry Clone" or just writing the whole thing off as one.

My favorite thing about this game’s combat is a bit of tech you can do where you can cancel most of your animations into a block and use that as a means of extending more elaborate combos you might come up with because after that block cancel you can transition into anything else you want whether it be the specific grab attacks or say, you want to transition from your standard light attacks to your standard heavy attacks. I love these sorts of action games a lot so these kinds of options do a lot for me.

Loved this and your Punisher Retrospective. Hopefully you will consider X2: Wolverines Revenge for PS2. It’s the first game I ever beat as a kid.

I would love to see another Ghost Rider game like this. Just more fine tuning and polish I feel like this would've been one of the best Marvel games out there. As it stands right now, it's just a decent game that I'm glad got released.
  • I remember playing this game as a kid. It was great fun. Imagine Insomniac doing a Ghost Rider game.

This game was and still is amazing! I just replayed it this past year, it’s the perfect movie/comic hybrid game!
