  • @220p2
stay strong rusty, you'll get through the month
  • Nightmares is definitely a side-effect of not drinking. GABA receptors go haywire, resulting in nightmares and occasionally panic episodes if awake.
  • My dad died from his alcoholism, it feels good to see someone overcome something he couldn’t.

Rooting for you bro, been loosely watching your content since the knife game song initially blew up. I've never personally dealt with addiction like that in my life, but I have dealt with drug addiction around me. I understand the gravity of what you're doing and I wish you the best of luck. You CAN (and are going to) do this.

Try fixing your sleep schedule that could help with the emptiness. It isn't the addiction, the feeling of boringness can happen if you don't have any things to do. Try drawing while listening to music, works for me. Sleeping properly can also help you feel better. Edit: BTW read the comments there's some useful information there.
  • Being an opiate addict for 8 years of my life was one of the hardest things I've ever been through, but getting clean was THE hardest. I've been clean and sober for going on 6 years now. You got this, man.
  • "the nights seem so long" - also goes to bed at 4am every night
  • He’s talking about trying to kick his addiction, there is literally no reason to dislike this, what the hell is wrong with you people
  • Hey Rusty. My grandpa was a dangerous alcoholic when my mom was a kid. She said he'd have around a 6 pack pf beer a night for as long as she could remember. It made him a horrible, abusive person who destroyed his family. He hasn't had a drop since my mom was in high school, and is to this day one of the sweetest men I've ever known. But, most importantly for you to hear, is that he's alive and doing well. He just turned 72, in fact. So, all I want to say is this: You got this, man. You're not alone, and you're going to get through this <3
  • My dad was an alcoholic, everyday drinker, and usually to the pass out point. At seven years old I asked my Dad why did he drink. He said that he likes the way it makes him feel. Fast forward 20 years, I realized through my own issues with alcohol, that he probably meant he liked the way it makes him NOT feel. I appreciate you sharing this experience and hope you find the healthiest outcome for yourself. ✌️🙂
  • Lol this guy has ready to open liquor sitting all over his house. Bad environment for going sober hahah. Best of luck my man
  • if an alcoholic says he drinks half a bottle a day, he drinks a whole bottle. source: i am an alcoholic
  • If you want to lose some weight try going for a bike ride, run or just walk for a hour a day or every other day. That's how I lost weight and I felt a lot better since. And try keeping your calorie intake to around 2k a day until you reach your desired weight then you can eat around 3k. I'm not a nutritionist or anything this is just what I've been doing for the last few years and it's been working great.

Pro tip: Take up drinking something other than alcohol, to fill the time and get that physical stimulation. I loath tea, but I bought a whole bunch of tea sampler packs, so instead of ending my night with a bottle of whisky, I'll make a few cups of herbal, and chill. It's hot, so you have to wait to drink it, where time is passing. I cut down from about the same amount, to a few recreational drinks a week. Another tip, for when you probs go back to drinking: take up mixing drinks with good quality spirits, and sip as a late night cap. The mixing process takes up time, you won't be killing shots in seconds, your spirits will be expensive but tastey, you'll be starting late, and you'll want to savor the experience as a treat.
  • "so I'm not really experiencing any withdrawal symptoms" Describes withdrawal symptoms
  • "i dont think ive ever been to a ihop sober" -rusty cage 2020
  • Don’t focus on weight lose that much it’s really easy to develop another addition after quitting one and an eating disorder is really hard to recover from. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t have that goal I just recommend watching your habits and not falling into another unhealthy cooping mechanism
  • “Ready for bed I’ll see how I feel in the morning” At 5:30 am
  • This is genuinely inspiring, I'm addicted to YouTube, I spend hours everyday wasting my time, but tomorrow I'm not gonna go on it. Thank you. I think you're going to make my life better. Please keep it up, I believe in you.
