The Batman starring Robert Pattinson puts the hero against the Riddler played by Paul Dano, with the two finally meeting in a chilling face to face in which the Riddler teases that he might actually know Batman's identity as Bruce Wayne. While the Riddler seems to back off from it and suggests that he actually thinks Batman and Bruce Wayne are different people, each rewatch of this film unearths new evidence that suggests the Riddler may still know, and have spoken the name Bruce Wayne to deliberately taunt Batman and communicate that he has leverage over him. Erik Voss breaks down the Riddler's exact plan, and how the unusual step of luring Batman to the orphanage actually reveals the Riddler testing to prove whether Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same person.

I love the fact that Riddler assumed Batman was probably working class like him and so he figured that he would know what the carpet tool was, where Bruce had no clue until the cop explained what it was. :)

That's how good Riddler is, even has the audience guessing if he knows or not.

As a curious fact, in the Arkham game saga, the Riddler had Bruce Wayne on the suspect list to be Batman but I suppose his pride did not allow him to accept that a millionaire playboy was better than him.

He left the note and it was fire proof. That means he wanted to kill Bruce but have batman read the note. That means he didn't know.

My sold out theater during the interrogation scene was SO SILENT you could hear a pen drop. I wish I could go back and relive that. I love when an entire theater is so into a film it’s literal silence from everyone
