Russia has declared a state of emergency in the Kursk region, which is in the western part of the country. Moscow has said that the decision was taken due to continuous cross-border attacks from Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin criticised the alleged “large-scale provocation” and added that Ukraine was firing indiscriminately, using various types of weapons, including rockets.
