  • My son shared your music with us in our kitchen. He resignatted so much with it, he passed away at only 17 11-27-23. He was trapped in a traggic house fire saving his biological fathers life. This is the song he introduced us to first and honestly it slipped my mind because it was on his play list. I came across this just now and brought tears to my eyes because I could see his excitement in his face and hear him introducing this song to us. I cherish the 17 yrs worth of memories I made with him. He loved your music and was so proud to share and sing along. Thanks for being apart of my boys life even though you didn't even know it. ❤
  • Sam, I’m a former heroin addict and my 16 year old son just sent me this yesterday! I haven’t been able to stop listening to it over and over! I’ve cried tears of gratitude that I’m able to have such a strong relationship with my boy after all the times I let him down. He forgives me so I’m able to forgive myself. Sometimes he amazes me at his wisdom and maturity at such a young age. I look up to him now. Thank you for making music for kids like him and their mamas.❤
  • This is the realest song about life I've ever heard. No one understands what it's like being a man and the expectations people have of you especially coming from a father that did great in life and expects you to fill the boots

Your music helped me find the strength to support my wife through the loss of our baby boy at 20 weeks term. Thank you sam, please keep doing what you are doing.

I have played this song over and over and it brings joy and tears of happiness that today I have 67 days sober. I have found that threw god the impossible of having me be sober like I am today be a reality I once thought I’d never be able to get sober or stay sober and no matter how many times I have fallen I get up no matter what I was a real bad addict and god saved me again and again I’m truly blessed and greatful to be alive and it’s music like yours that hits my soul I thank you for this song !!! God bless brother wish you the best !!!!!
  • This boy is so underrated, thankful to live in a world where guys like him and Zach Bryan make music though.
  • Here from rich men north of Richmond. I’m so glad Oliver opened up country to me. Love from the uk 🇬🇧

Heard this song for the first time 5 days postpartum. I was nursing my newborn, sleep deprived, exhausted, and overwhelmed. Felt like I couldn’t handle my new life. I just cried & cried listening to this song. Here I am 10 weeks later doing great with my little one & still listening to this song. Thank you 🙏🏼

Thank you. I am a believer. Get up and face your life. Don’t last your past define your name. Thank you for a great song. 😂😂
  • @liamtechman
“Don’t let your past define your name” thank you so much I’m dealing with some crap at school and listening to you makes me want to prove them wrong. Y’all are the best

Beautiful song. Don’t let the music industry get you bro keep listening to your lyrics. You can be successful without selling ur soul.
  • This song has been on repeat in my life since I heard it. The power and emotion behind his voice is amazing.

Thanks Sam! Songs like yours, Zach, Tyler, and the red clay strays are like prayers if you sing them out loud. This music has got me through some of the darkest days my near 50 yr old soul has even known. It keeps me grounded knowing I’m not alone and somewhere someone else is screaming Childers. Gods path and at Godspeed!

Lyrics: When there's a storm raging in your soul You gotta thank God that you're still growing old If them demons your fighting won't go away Drop on your knees and pray Life can get hard sometimes I know You got to get up and walk the straight and narrow When they're chasing you down with an old bloodhound And you're running through the fields for your life You got to get up son I know they're gunnin for ya Don't let the thought of yesterday Crowd out the visions of today Don't let your past define your name We will all be judged the same someday Life can get hard sometimes I know You got to get up and walk the straight and narrow When they're chasing you down with an old bloodhound And you're running through the fields for your life You got to get up son I know they're gunnin for ya When they're chasing you down with an old bloodhound And you're running through the fields for your life You got to get up son I know they're gunnin for ya.
  • Music is like therapy. Hearing something so poetic can refresh and repair the wounds in your soul.

As a young father looking to progress his family forward this song literally brings tears to my eyes.

In our life time there will never be another song like that.
