@0:38 The red square 🟥 is for 0481s “red patchers” who are landing specialists, who load and offload helicopters, planes and ships of equipments and machinery. In WWII when they loaded ships they got mixed in with the grunts and from then on they wear a red square in their helmets and covers to be distinguished from the infantrymen and others

Nothing beats the Coast Guards ODU's it even comes with a ball cap.

Woodland BDUs with a set of green jungle boots is still king. It was a sad day when I had to I've those up 😢. OD green BDU I wore as OPFOR at Polk was a close second......also worn with a green set of jungles 😂

I don't know man just the way the Marine uniform makes anyone wearing it look fucking ripped is magical. Also they are just as comfy as the Army one, everyone was always ready to take their uniform off but I always was fine lounging around in mine. (Yes I changed it and had a set specially for off duty, I'm not disgusting.)

I had the "pleasure" of wearing the blue NWUs (Navy working uniform) didn't realize how heavy and unbreathable they were until we switched to the type 3s (green camo). They look better and they fit/breath way better.

IHWU: never heard of it, that is until my last assignment with PEO Soldier. Went out and bought one immediately. Loved it. Got supplemental issue with all the newest stuff, but the IWHU was out-of-stock. Retired 1.5 years later and bought two more pairs of pants and even another blouse. I'd rate it as the best uniform I wore, followed by maybe the Multicam FR-ACU issued for Afghanistan, which is great for burning bonfires while drunk...I mean practicing safe fire techniques.

The red square on their covers is a logistics indicator for Marine units that are landing support specialists so there is less battlefield confusion during landing operations..it cuts out the Grunts asking, "why aren't those Marines actively working on fire and maneuver to kill our enemies?"

As someone in the AF I whole heartedly agree with the lightweight OCP’s! So nice and light that I can never go back to whatever the material the original top was made out of
  • @zalseon4746
Enlisted during ACUs, got my OCPs during the end of my career, and good god almighty it was so much nicer. They looked better, they actually camo'd and holy shit they were so much more comfy.
  • @LitmusPapyrus
Extra points for the Navy’s green NWUs for having you wear a possibly pretty cool command-specific patch on the shoulder
  • @the_weezman
Summer set OCPs are absolute fucking bangers. Especially when the weather is supposed to be triple digits until Halloween.
  • @jmanusmc2006
From one CWO to another, the shiny rank on MARPAT is only in garrison. Besides, it's way easier to pin it on than wait on alterations
  • @SkunkApe407
As a Squid who served during the days of utilities and coveralls, I'm sooooo jealous of the new camos. You young pups are looking sharp! Hoo-Rah!
  • @HectorLopez-fq2jt
Old school PTs AKA Marshmallows really felt like pajamas. Also in Ft Bliss we rocked DCUs, Desert Camo. Way before the uniform that shall not be mentioned
  • @michaelcast2636
The little flappy flaps instead of the plain Velcro gives it more character for the Hot weather uniform
  • @Mike-ij4rq
Chiefs obviously has never been blessed by the A2CU (Flight OCPs) It’s like the summers but you get Velcro everywhere to get the perfect fit (Also I think the issued summers are overrated, but the Propper ones are GOATed)
  • @Itsmejeffwee
Can confirm with the army hot weathers. Absolutely amazing
  • @RenUchiha06
I actually like the new NWU Type III pattern for the Navy. It isn't really that good for Woodland camouflage, but something about it just screams Naval Special Warfare badass.

The IHWCUs are the best thing the Army/USAF has done in years. Starting from those absolute war crimes of the ABUs to wearing the IHWCUs now is like going from a rental Dodge Journey to a Land Cruiser.
