I'd keep the heads yellow. Like you said, there's way more expression and are more common. Plus, it saves on money that can be used for buying parts for other armies/projects or buying the barding for the horses. You can always buy the new heads at a later date, but they aren't a priority.

I think the king looks really good the way he is. He seems noble, rather than cliche. Everyone uses the crown/beard combo for their kings.
  • I think keeping the yellow figures would be best. While natural skin tones would allow for more variety, you can easily show different cultures by use of clothing and accessories. Not to mention, when using colors like olive green, your characters stand out much more and adds to the contrast between your character and the less saturated background.
  • For the cavalry you should put spears similar to one that you already gave to other minifigures, but longer and instead of just a yellow flag, also add a black one.

I'd go with yellow heads, like you said bigger variety and less $$$. But skin tone does look great. Great techniques used to create a diverse and unique army. I've had the same issue building a small army of tournament knights as well, trying to keep the numbers of all my castle armies down to keep them scaled similarly.

Wow, hat army is HUGE now! I personally would definitely stick to yellow heads, not just because I think they look better but also there's so much more types. (though some of the ones from Prince of Persia could work great I think). And the MOC is really cool too, I love the colors. It would be really nice to have a Raven Knight included in next years Market set, but that's really unlikely :(
  • Army looks amazing!!, I love the nordic/middle eastern inspiration and I think it sets the factions apart really well!, and for the calvary I also liked the the idea of them using maces ( another way to lean into that middle eastern inspiration ) sheep herder moc shame to see it tear-downed. For inspiration the smallest Disney wish set I think could be good inspiration for a Raven or even Orcish settlement as it feels like something from the Middle East as well. Now the elephant in the room…do I think you should switch to realistic skin tones, well while I really like the verity of yellow, I also like the diversity of realistic skin tones!, I have seen people put POC heads along side yellow without basic flesh tan but idk if never liked that way of doing it. Though with the hairstyle you chose for the people of the Bone iles I think (?) they were meant to be people of darker skin forgive me if I’m wrong. Though they also seem to be Celtic inspired! But yes I think switching to realistic would be a good choice!, but that’s just my opinion:)

My largest Lego castle army is four guys lol. But that’s fine for me I just love this so much! I think the cavalry should use long spears or axes. I think the axes fit the black ravens. Also making custom long axes is easy because axe parts are somewhat common in sets.

I‘d love to have have such an great army with all these insane locking custom elements, great job . A lore video with Mocs about the campaign against the black falcons would be amazing!
  • @Krautline
I understand your love for the figure! It's my favourite CMF figure. Such a great figure. Im not a very hardcore lego collector so I feel lucky to have gotten one from a bag back when they were sold in store. Great army and idea!
  • As always another epic video brother, I love how you have the different classes and always awesome back story too. One day I’ll hopefully have a army like that so we can double up on the orc armies. Great job man, I can’t wait to see the next video. 👍
  • Coolest raven army I have seen and the vibe of that moc is so awesome.
  • @SobekBricks
Great video my friend! Good luck finding missing pieces, your army is very impressive! Best faction of 'em all!

I've been looking forward to this video for a while! This raven army is just a work of art. I love all the detail and the lore you've packed into this, and you've seriously become a massive inspiration for me creating my own medival mocs/lore. Your video about the peasant town and how you did so much just working with what you have personally inspired my own Raven Knight lore. I only was able to pick up 2 while series 20 was on shelves, bc of covid, but I just made that a part of my lore. I have the Raven Knights not being a faction, but being 2 mercenary brothers who are the most skilled warriors in my lore. The fact that I don't have a lot of these just makes my world more creative and unique. Thanks for putting out all these awesome videos, I always enjoy them so much!

If you want the yellow heads you could use hair colors to show where they are from and create different groups of people.
  • @hazaeagle1
In Legends of Chima there is an AMAZING (what looks like) Black Crow Mask/Helmet. I am getting one now for my Troop.
  • @EtherealGlint41
I’ve been thinking about starting to build castle armies, this is a very good video, so thanks
  • @EyeOfTheRaven77
This is my favorite fraction😊 Great ideas for variety. Your army doesn't look like a clone army. It looks very nice. Greetings from Poland👍👍👍

Heavy cav should have heavy lances imo, light having swords
