I love that quote so much. "We are not determined by our experiences, but the meaning we give them is self determining" -Alfred Adler

My wife and I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday and I had it in my mind to find a book called The Courage to be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. Luckily I grabbed the last copy they had. I am obsessed with the premise of the book and was introduced to Adlerian Psychology. I feel this will be the catalyst I need in my life to become a more positive and goal oriented human being.
  • Adler's theories & practical-minded outlook is incredibly refreshing. His concepts of lifestyle and the 'personal philosophy' is so grounded - shame he's not more widely appreciated!

Thank you so much for your Simple, Clear, and Powerful explanation! I recently just discovered Adlerian Psychology in the book "Courage to be disliked" and got really interested in the concept. Your video expand the knowledge I've got and the exercise to fill in the blank is really helpful! Subscribed ❀

I recently read 'the courage to be disliked' which I really enjoyed and chimes with my worldview and purports represent adlerian psychology. Two questions 1. does it? and 2. What are the main shortcomings or criticisms of Adler - why isn't this thinking more widely adopted compared to his contemporaries?
  • Great video Alina! I really liked the part where you describe how much the subjective interpretation of events matter. It really helped open up a lot of my issues

Good Job. I am becoming a big fan of Adlers Theroy in the last week's :)
  • The effort towards goal fulfillment may not necessarily be a transition from a lower to a higher state.

Question: is the free journal prompt the same journal prompt as the last video?
