I loved this video!! I am a Native Arizonan so flash floods are in my blood. I don't think the average person realizes how dangerous and sudden they are. But, thank God for the rain, we can maintain a very large population in a desert because of the tributaries and the runoff into larger waterways!! Thank you for sharing this footage, we'll done!

"Enjoy the ooze" has got to be the best way to describe beautiful debris flow videos 👍

All these active, overhead shots are a great way to see these floods from another perspective.

I saw a video of a family driving through a canyon to park up and take a hike, but it started to rain and flash flood. The family quickly got back into their vehicle, and started to drive back out, but the waters were getting deeper and deeper, so the father decided to drive onto a small elevated island and wait it out. As they sat in the vehicle waiting, they saw another family in a compact car floating backwards in the flood waters, they slammed into an overhang of rocks, but they were actually saved from getting stuck because of the force of the waters pushing them. Rescue had gotten to the family stuck on an elevated island, the mom and kids were flown out by helicopter, while the dad waited for an all terrain vehicle to pull his truck back onto the road. It was an AMAZING story, just look on YouTube for the family stuck in Utah's national canyon.

Lived in AZ my whole life. We learned to fear the flash flood, but it's really interesting to see them in action.
  • I’ve been watching you chase tornados for years. I love seeing you here in my AZ backyard showing us the monsoons!

when i was young, we’d have tremendous rainstorms that sometimes would produce actual waterfalls on Mummy Mountain! Absolutely thrilling!! I SO MISS my free range, no other homes then, mountain …. it was my constant companion of intrigue and exploration..

This is an amazing format that is really growing on me. Like a slideshow of information mixed with multiple views and in depth explanation with high detail and notations. Great job Reed.

Suddenly I'm in the mood for a Nutella chocolate shake.
  • This monsoon season is one of the most intense I have ever seen. Las Vegas got absolutely flooded just a few weeks ago. And Lake Mead actually rose several feet because of all the rain. And now The region is getting more rain because of Kay’s moisture and remnants.
