Casually losing my mind that somehow a Gameboy Color was deemed to be the SECOND place prize to a bicycle, AND that you somehow hit that target, like ??????? holy crap the odds?????

I kind of have a similar story. There was a coloring contest when I was in kindergarten. My school more of a cheapskate than yours though. LOL First prize was the movie Snow White (one of the very few Disney movies I already owned), second prize was some kind of video game toy (not a game boy, it was some cheap knock-off with only one lion king game). I didn’t have anything like that at the time though, so I wanted the second prize. I ended up winning first. Only contest I’ve ever won in my life, and it was a movie I already owned. LOL

As a child I had a DSi, and it was my most precious possession at the time. When I was like seven, I got robbed and cried a river over my DSi. Coincidentally that year the 3DS just came out, and I begged so bad that my parents ended up getting me a 3DS for Christmas (maybe bc they felt bad about me getting my DSi robbed and they wanted to compensate it somehow) I still have that console, and after like 11-12 years it still works perfectly. I bought my little sister a secondhand 3DS two years ago, so I still play a lot with her and also by my own

Wait. You stole my entire childhood’s plot! Lol. I played the Backyard Sports games, like Backyard Baseball. And this one space combat sim called Bang Gunship Elite. I also had friends who owned other games like Smash Bros Brawl.

I begged my parents for two straight years for a Nintendo 64. They finally got me the jungle green dk64 bundle and that was probably my favorite Christmas ever for 9 year old me.
