In this video we are building another electric dirt bike, this time we are modifying the dirt bike engine and installing the electric motor into the engine so therefore we can still have the 6 speed transmission and clutch.

  • are straight cut gears normally this loud? or did I mess up the tooth profile on the gears I made causing them to be this loud?
  • @N4DRR
You are not afraid of work, you are the most admired young man on youtube, I love this E-motor build
  • @vancemacd6315
half of the best builds on you tube were made by this man. Exceptional work my friend.
  • You are absolutely one of the best at fabricating and machining. You rock Chris.
  • @got2soar
Tip because I look forward to your Sunday videos and that is a beautiful assembly you made. If I ever see ya at D-town again I got a high five for ya too. Leaks always happen but wheelies on the bench... Dude, that's awesome.
  • @JeffBarker
Well Chris I just realized it's been almost a decade since I started watching you and damn you've really become a hell of a fabricator. I look forward to another decade of awesome builds.

A little tip on making gaskets, clamp the paper to the gasket surface and tap around the edges and holes with the ball side of a ball peen, you don’t have to trace anything and tapping it with the hammer will cut it out for you. It’s how I make all my gaskets. Also that fit on that pin may have gone easier if you threw the pin in the freezer for an hour or two as well as heated up the hole in the case.

finally someone had the guts to build one! It has been on my to do list for a while. Of course there is more frictions than actual electric transmissions systems, but having gears will give more battery range. Thank you for making it real!
  • Chris, your electric dirt bike engine is so loud, it's like having a rock concert on wheels! 🎸

Out of all your projects, this is the one I’d be most proud of. I love how you take on complex projects that stretch your ability to problem solve

I have been building multi speed electric vehicles for 10 years now. I have found that 2 or 3 speeds are ideal. What you will find when you're finished is the gear ratios from the gas bike motor will be too close to be useful. Not a big deal. You will just find yourself skipping gears when you ride. This is truly one of the best DIY builds I have seen. I can't wait to see how it performs.

This electric motor conversion so much fun to watch, I really like it.
  • @jamaicatvtv4215
This is beyond anything I’d ever expect to see on YouTube. Amazing work! It’s been awesome to see the progression of all the builds on the channel but This one is just next level man! Can’t wait for the next video
  • @adeadlyfart13
Hell yeah!! About time someone put together a proper electronic bike, gears are great for fun and performance.
  • @rphawx
I absolutely love your joy and excitement with each accomplishment. Congratulations Chris, very impressive!
  • @wolfparty4234
You did do a very good job making sure all surfaces are flat down on your glass surface plate. I say get rid of the gasket and just Honda bond them. I would trust it.
  • @lorenlgray
I have watched you through the years and I have seen your skill progression. You are a master craftsman, Sir! Thank you for all the excellent content.
  • @lilguilty
As soon as I saw that cut stop I knew you hit the bearing haha
  • Definitely some outboard support is a good idea, I was thinking that from the outset! Man...what a project. Kudos to you...this is one impressive project!
