Crazy idea switch roles have Emmett do a solo backpacking trip and dan can edit it

This was a great discussion. I do enjoy seeing Emmett. Emmett, you have a good screen presence and your voice is pleasant to the ear. What I really appreciate, Dan, is that you profile your film maker. I think that is unique in U Tube. You know these channels that have such excellent filmmaking and you know they’re not actually doing the filming but they don’t give credit to who is behind the cameras. So kudos for putting Emmett out front and center. You make a good team.
  • @grimgranite
Love you both. Awesome to see you crushing it with your art-form, Emmett! I feel like I should get a recruiting fee for introducing you to Emmett… hmmm 😂
  • Dan, prayers for a safe trip and sense of calm as you conquer this trek again! LOVE when Emmett has a cameo and I enjoyed this video podcast very much!
  • @willdhurst
Definitely dig this style! Lord, be with them in the canyon, again!
  • @stever6986
YES, you should do semi-regular podcasts AND...it must be called "Just Two Guys from Wisconsin"
  • @jamesbenners9114
Emmett is the Wizard behind the curtain for the Dan Becker Outdoor channel. Really enjoyed the interview! Hope to hear more of his behind the scenes incites in future videos. Love the channel Dan! Glad you’re going back to the Grand Canyon. Stay safe buddy!

I want more of these kind of episodes!
  • Good job to the guy who made the logo sign. That was sweet looking. Good luck back at the Grand Canyon. Can't wait to see the video of you conquering it

Good job! I'm a total newbie here, seen a handful of your Grizz attack vids. A brother in law was attacked by a black bear when he and his buddy was 16 years old. A horrific story, Rick's body was 2/3 covered in claw and bite mark, massive scars, his buddy had one of his back calf's torn off, I believe, leaving him with skin in front and bone, each played dead while the other was being mauled, bear left them for dead. They called out to each other assuring both were concious and alive, finally got up and took off. Then ran a long ways for help..If I recall they scaled a fence at one point. My sister shared the story many yrs ago. This was, I believe in the Bitterroot Mountains, in Montana, where we all grew up. The bear actually drug them out of there tent. Yes, Dan, the Lord does intervene, doesn't He! Even when people are clueless that He did! Stay safe, Joanne

Dan! Way to go! Coincidentally, I have my own Grand Canyon story. I rafted the canyon in 2020. We had a freak accident and my right lower leg was crushed between a boulder and a large commercial raft. I had to be med-evac'd out of the canyon. 15 screws, 2 steel plates, and 5 months of rehab later, I returned to the Canyon almost a year to the day and did the whole trip over again. I had a great time AND slayed my 'fear dragons' as well. Thanks be to God for the courage it took to do that again. And yes, my family tried to talk me out of it. So I completely relate to the significance of you going back. Can't wait to hear about your experience when you return. God will use it for your good. ❤ PS - you are a badass! 😁

Good luck DB! Happy for you getting back on that horse. can't wait to hear about it.
  • Well, Dan, you turned Emmett into a real backpacker! When he was little, the huz and I (that is, Emmett’s parents) tried to get Emmett to go hiking and backpacking with us but he balked, saying “there’s no wifi in the woods” and “why would I want to just walk all day?!” We’re glad you, Dan, could pull off what we couldn’t. The fishing thing, though…Emmett’s comment about “that’s on my parents” is totally on the mark. I stopped trying to fish after I was a little kid and out with my dad. I thought I’d caught a whopper and was excitedly reeling in my huge prize, only to find it was a discarded and full-of-water snowmobile boot. Anyway, engaging and fun video/discussion, both of you!
  • @Harry-Giles
So glad you are going back to the Grand Canyon. Your plan is very reasonable. Appreciate Emmett. What a great asset to the channel.
  • @RobertHoff-bg3yg
Emmett is the man! Def upgraded the channel! Keep up the good work!
  • @TheNypenfan
I enjoy these from time to time. And it helps that one of you has “a face for video”. You guys can debate which one. lol but seriously, I like these thrown in every once in a while. It really shows your passion for what you’re doing.
  • Enjoyed the discussion. Was not expecting to see the tag line. Glad you went back. Hoping you didn’t get too much rain or snow. I know the forecast is for snow from Flag, west and north. Looking forward to hear how it went. Thinking of you all from Oregon.
