The brown thing is 魔芋(Mo Yu) ,蒟蒻(Ju Ruo) or Amorphophallus konjac. It's a popular vegetarian food, and because it contains a lot of fibre and very few calories, it's also a popular diet food. 9:18

Juneyao's aircraft interiors seem interesting, the purple color scheme is certainly unique! There are some elements of the service that give off ULCC vibes tho, such as the adwraps inside the cabin. You wouldn't see cathay or singapore doing that

Another great trip report and vlog. Juneyao looked ok, I would prefer CX though. The nighttime approach into HKG was stunning! Your Mum's apartment is small, normal for Hong Kong, Singapore etc. I forget how crowded HKG is, but I love it there, the crowds are part of it's charm. Where you in an air-conditioned cabin on the Star Ferry, with the window open? Fun fact, did you know the Maori Haka is originally performed to warn their enemy and a chance to retreat?
