Using a brake caliper piston wind back tool kit. This handy tool kit has left-handed and right-handed threaded tools and drive keys that fit almost any vehicle with front or rear disc brakes. Note I actually used the wrong key in this video, I should have used the 'stepped key' marked with the number 3. That key sits into the piston and does not rotate as the piston is being pushed in. Here's a link to an updated video showing how to retract both front and rear caliper pistons:    • Universal Brake Caliper Piston Rewind...

Here's a video showing how to compress a rear caliper piston both with, and without special tools:    • Rear Brake Caliper Piston Rewind - Wi...

Simple, direct instruction without any BS. Extremely helpful. Thank you.
  • Today i learned something new. I never thought i could use this tool on the front, i always use it on the rear brakes only...
  • @mmmmmlemons
For front brakes that just require pushing it, there is an adapter on the right side of the case that rotates so you do not grind against the piston.
  • Usually only a C-clamp pushes back the hydraulic cylinder, A L T H O U G H, on Nissan Altima, the rear disk brakes needed this screwing in motion whilst turning to push the cylindar back. I never would have guessed the secret to push back the cylinder without a good video such as this. Ran, not walked to the Harbor Freight and bought this tool and it worked.

I got one of these LOCKED tight on my caliper yesterday and spent hours trying to get it off with no success. Ended up cutting it off with a cut off wheel. What a PITA!!!!!!
