If ancient persians came back to life and they seeing how they were portrayed in hollywood movies, they would invade greece again. but this time with better strategy

Ah, yes, Xerxes, the 7 foot tall troll with a permanent witness protection voice filter.

One dip and he became zesty as hell

Producers: Eva, we don't need you to show nudity in this film. Eva:

'he stumbled upon a hermits cave' ah yes the days when hermits lived in groups
  • Never have I seen a God-King with Imaginary Lat Syndrome. Arms flared out to his sides as if he had the Lats of Schwarzenegger.
  • Well... wonderful to get a long and complex backstory for a villain we've already seen take a spear to the face and bleed.

I hated this storyline so much because it’s the exact opposite of who Xerxes really was. There are artifacts upon artifacts from Persepolis that STRONGLY indicate he was a hero, a man who cared for his people, even a hunter of demons that plagued his empire (according to a really cool bench now behind glass at UChicago). He even delayed his campaign against Greece—considered just dropping the whole thing—because he was so enamored with his new wife, so in love with her, he didn’t want to leave her side. I know movies are fiction 😅 it just seriously bothered me that such a great man was portrayed so villainously.
  • He has a golden diaper so he can poo at any time, anywhere, even during a battle, or war, just like a god king should

Wild and mythical as this depiction is, I'm just happy they showed us Artemisia.
