Yung Joc recently spoke about Lil Nas X's viral antics and the strategies he uses to promote his music. Joc conceded that Lil Nas X knows how to get attention and ignite conversations around his projects. However, he expressed concern about the rapper's longevity in the music industry. Joc explained that while Lil Nas X's controversial acts might help boost his streaming numbers, they do not guarantee a lasting career. He emphasized that lasting impact comes from the quality of the music itself, which must resonate with listeners. Joc also shared that some of Lil Nas X's fans are disappointed and have withdrawn their support due to the controversial displays. Finally, while he acknowledged Lil Nas X's right to self-expression, Joc suggested he may need a new approach to sustain a long-term music career.

He knows his music isn't doing anything for people so he's just doing anything shocking and controversial to see what sticks to try and stay relevant.

Joc perfectly articulated what I have been thinking about Lil Nas X. He's shot at too many targets and has come up empty. Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Eminem are three "controversial" artists who had HITS, and not only hits, but sustained great music. Lil Nas X has viral moments, but he does not make great music by any means. Moral of the story is you can get away with being controversial if the music is hitting. It's happened for decades. Lil Nas X puts more effort in being controversial than he does his music, and people are over it. It's hollow, it's lazy, and it's not sustainable for a career.

You need a gimmick when no one's listening to your music.

I love Joc’s perspective. It’s plenty of artist going viral but can’t sell out shows or sell any records 😂😂😂
  • @abpodcast140
Load and lil Nas x n the same conversation is crazy
  • @novalove4790
I love Prez's style of interviewing... It's really a conversation. Vlad however overtalks people, and ESPECIALLY if they have an opinion that differs from his.
  • @LoonyBinsTV
Man's really stopped Joc mid point to say nothing lmao
  • @deep7544
Cam and Mase would never 😂😂😂

He let his label trick him in to being a 9@y artist, instead of an artist who’s 9@y, like Elton John, frank ocean they’re artist first, their bedroom life has nothing to do with the quality and style of music, they’re great musicians who just happen to like the same whatever, but lil nas is just a 9@y artist, without the antics his music is trash he done boxed himself in to the over the top stereotype now his music isn’t token serious cause his gimmick is so much apart of it, plus the most recent stuff is crazy

He is doing what "the industy" is telling him to do.
