People got up front with their phones to record the huge waves, but then took off when the waves fell on them.

They need that Idiot Law here in California which speaks directly to stupid people who endanger themselves by going out into an ocean that clearly doesn't want them right now, thereby putting emergency responder's lives in danger when they go out to try to save them.
  • I have heard the elderly say they have never seen anything like this in their lifetime. That’s worrisome.

It's Pier PONT not Pier Point 😉. I've lived here 40 yrs- go to Seward turn around where that incredible wave hit: have never seen it that high!

It's just like... Dude, you get the best barrels ever, dude. It's just like, you pull in, and you just get spit out 'em. You just drop in, smack the lip. Waapah! Just drop down. Swoopah! And then after that, you just drop in, ride the barrel, and get pitted, so pitted.

Should of been prepared for this , High surf forecast with Full moon and high tides means the shoreline reaches a higher and longer area .... Mother Nature some times lines up every once in a while , but this was forecast even on a normal surf web page .

I feel for SOME of these people. I also love how the reporter at the beginning said the waves " Pushed " the truck when It was painfully OBVIOUS that there was a person in the Rig DRIVING to get away from the waves... MEDIA FEARMONGERING CONTINUES...

Jane Fonda was there! That salt water on their brake rotors, calipers and so much more will start rusting in hours if not rinsed off.
