The feature film introduces a legendary family of explorers, the Clades, as they attempt to navigate an uncharted, treacherous land alongside a motley crew that includes a mischievous blob, a three-legged dog and a slew of ravenous creatures. âInspired by classic adventure stories," said director Don Hall, ââStrange Worldâ is an original animated adventure/comedy about three generations of the Clade family who overcome their differences while exploring a strange, wondrous and oftentimes hostile world.â
Â
The voice cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal as Searcher Clade, a family man who finds himself out of his element on an unpredictable mission; Dennis Quaid as Searcherâs larger-than-life explorer father, Jaeger; Jaboukie Young-White as Searcherâs 16-year-old son, Ethan, who longs for adventure; Gabrielle Union as Meridian Clade, an accomplished pilot and Searcherâs partner in all things; and Lucy Liu as Callisto Mal, Avaloniaâs fearless leader who spearheads the exploration into the strange world. âStrange Worldâ is helmed by Don Hall (OscarÂź-winning âBig Hero 6,â âRaya and the Last Dragonâ) and co-director/writer Qui Nguyen (co-writer âRaya and the Last Dragonâ), and produced by Roy Conli (OscarÂź-winning âBig Hero 6,â âTangledâ).

Gotta love how they literally revealed the dad survived in the trailer. Gotta love modern trailers revealing half the plot Edit: The movie is out! stop watching the trailer and getting angry at one half arsed comment

I never heard of this movie until I saw all the news stories about it bombing at the box office. That's why I'm here now watching the trailer for the first time. The marketing for this was beyond terrible.

I love the bit where nobody watched and Disney panicked
-
You know a film is bad when people don't even pirate it.

Watching this trailer just saved me $14.00 at the theatre!
-

this movie hits hard when your closing ur eyes
-
Man, Disney sure is loving these generational trauma stories huh
-
Remember when movie trailers were supposed to make you WANT to see the whole movie instead of giving you the important plot points?
-
I'm going to guess that Disney was nervous about heavily standing behind a movie with so much of an LGBT friendly position, where the boy liked a boy and there was an interracial couple with a darker black woman. Middle America trembles, grandma in the corner clutching her pearls, aggressively religious uncle exclaiming "this is why the country is going to crumble!". "leave our kids alone!" screams mom who forces her kids to go to Sunday school. Hence the lack of advertising.

The Box Checking/ Ticking was off the charts in this movies writers room. đđ€Ł đ€Šââïž

This looks like something that would've come out between Atlantis and Treasure Planet. would honestly love to see Disney take some more risks on projects like this more often, looks really creative.

Everyone: âSo are you ever gonna do any 2D animated films again?â Disney: âNo.â đ

I burst in to tears when Strange World Guy said "This is truly...a Strange World" đđđđ

Boy I sure do love having the major plot beats and plot twists revealed in the trailer
-
I love it because it reminds me of my dad who abandoned me to live on an alien planet. This movie hits home.

Watched this on a flight not knowing anything about it. It turned out to be a really good movie! Surprised it bombed.

Its midnight and i just finished watching it and although the trailer is not well executed (lets be real), I really liked it. I might give it another watch in the morning just to know if i'm just tripping but as of right now, its pretty good. There's bit of the plot that may need some more in depth explanation though but otherwise, really loved the visuals and concept in this movie. Likable characters, smooth animation ugh! It has potential. I just wish it has been advertised more by Disney.
