My friend died recently, he was a good guy. Had a family and was about to be married but had died in a car crash near christmas time. I didnt get to go to his funeral but I remember when we were kids, he sang this to me (I think it was because he liked me) and now, when I listen to this song, I hear him singing this to me just like when we were kids. thank you everyone for your comments, I sometimes get sad at the thought of him gone but I always know, he was one of my bested friends and memories of us running around the town causing trouble and staying out late with be the greatest times I had with him. edit 2: Really thank you guys! Im sorry for your losses as well and I know our losses are in better places waiting for us to join later on 😊
  • I'm sure in the 60s he never thought people would be listening to this song 60 years later...

This beautiful song, I remember playing it for my Grandfather, who had Alzheimer's, but amongst all of the struggle, this song still makes me tear up, as I see him sitting in his chair and me turning on this song

To the person that reads this, I ask the Lord to bless them and their family, to cure them of every sickness and pain, to fill their emptiness with love joy and peace, to rebuke the enemy from their lives. " ASK JESUS TO COME INTO YOUR HEART AND SAVE YOU, AND TO FORGIVE YOU OF YOUR SINS, FOR WE GIVE THANKS AND GLORY TO THE LORD. IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST AMEN!

This is an absolutely beautiful song. I listened to it in my teens and now at 78 years old the song is still beautiful and meaningful. Wonderful song by a wonderful, amazing artist. ❤❤❤
  • When the night has come And the land is dark And the moon is the only light we see No I won't be afraid No I won't be afraid Just as long as you stand, stand by me And darling, darling stand by me Oh, now, now, stand by me Stand by me, stand by me If the sky that we look upon Should tumble and fall And the mountain should crumble to the sea I won't cry, I won't cry No I won't shed a tear Just as long as you stand, stand by me And darling, darling stand by me Oh, stand by me Stand by me, stand by me, stand by me Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me Oh, now, now, stand by me Oh, stand by me, stand by me, stand by me Darling, darling stand by me Stand by me Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me
