Well I know it's a bit unfair, but man what a difference to the studio version! So much better. Of course Phil and Steve had to prove a lot, but both were just the perfect choice. I simply marvel at the groove and inventiveness of a 22 year old Phil.
  • My first vinyl album, aged 12. I felt so grown up. I’m 60 now and am still listening to it. Pretty good value for around three quid!

I was 10 years old when my older brother came home with this album. The first few times I heard it I thought, "Hmmm. this is very strange music. I don't quite know what to make of it." And by about listen #7 I was thinking, "This is fucking brilliant!" And 45 years later it's still fucking brilliant.

First prog metal song in my opinion, those drum fills are so thrash

Was watching a video of Genesis’ 2023? last tour in Philly somebody posted on YouTube. Someone in the audience called out “The Knife!” It was awesome! lol

Epic performance. The addition of Hackett and Collins clearly elevates the quality of this song.

Proto-Metal baby! Phil is a monster!

Magical. Remastered brings Hackett's guitar strokes to the fore where they should be. Hendrix would have been proud.

This is my favorite version of this song. I saw shortened versions live and they lacked the best parts of the song IMO. This version has the exemplary Mike Rutherford bass playing in the second half of this song. Why wasn't Genesis Live included on the best live album lists by Rolling Stone and all the other R-n-R publications? It can't be the guitar/bass drums or keyboard playing. This is the first prog live album I listened to in its entirety and it remains one of my favorite albums ever released by any band.
  • Flute part is like somewhere in my life I left someone in remote past never to be seen again........

This is a brilliant Genesis song
  • Génesis era un grupo de tal calidad que sus interpretaciones en vivo eran perfectas, pero además la fuerza del escenario hace que esta versión sea mejor que la del estudio, todo este álbum en realidad
