"We've been married 53 years" is all it took for the tears to start.

Watched this had me crying 😢. I was married for 53 years and lost my Husband 5 yrs ago and it hurts still if it was yesterday.

"She looked like a model" 😞 I want what they have. He is so cute.

What an incredible couple! A man who in spite of all the discrimination and cruelty he has faced, still held on to his kindness and character. And a woman who in a time of such racism, saw past other people’s misjudgments and loved him because of him. Who left her family and life behind because she knew it was the right thing to do. Incredible! They should be so proud of themselves and the beautiful children they’ve made!

This is what true love is all about, despite the obstacles stemming from racism. I love that he was by her side till she closed her eyes. Till death do us part.This touched my heart. Beautiful, Beautiful.

My condolences go out to his son for the loss of both his parents.

My great grandparents are interracial.... my great grandmother a black creole from Louisiana and her husband a mestizo Mexican from New Mexico. When he told his family he was going to ask to marry her, his family told him "if you marry that black bitch you’re dead to us" to which he gladly said "OK then, bye👋 " he’s in his late 80s now and I used to ask him was it a difficult decision. And he says "I knew from the moment I saw her she was my wife, nothing and no one was going to get in the way." Grandma Mary passed away about six years ago now. And I never saw my grandpa so sad. And to know he gave up everything to be with her. They had 8 children, and were married close to 60 years. They were fully in love and devoted to each other until the end.

This episode made me cry . After she passed away within the year he passed away too. Broken heart 💔 couldn’t live without her . They were totally devoted to each other . Really cried watching this

Their story put a big lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.

To survive racism, this long and still be together, this is deep Love.

Him looking after her in the ward, asking her if she was cold. Then saying that she was like a model when they were younger.... Stories like this help keep my faith alive xo
