Montell as a Christian who has been subbed to you since 2015 I want you to know that you do not owe anything to anybody. You have been so transparent with yourself and your walk and I don’t think people realize the amount of vulnerability that it takes. You are human, nobody is perfect, life is full of ups and downs. NOBODY knows your true relationship with God other than YOU and HIM. As a Christian who also struggles with certain addictions and pain I am thankful for your music and art.

I usually don't leave comment but it was left upon my heart to do so. Montell Fish, as a Christian myself who has also been through stages of grieving I understand your hurt and tears but most importantly it doesn't matter if I do or not because what matters most is that God understands your pain more than anyone. Even Jesus got angry when things weren't right, even Jesus wept, even Jesus sweat out blood in the midst of his anxiety. So the point of this comment is to say that no matter what you are going through just remember God is holding out his hand to you as his son and you do not owe any Christian a specific persona of perfection (in which no Christian is anyway)." The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18

grew up listening to your music in the christian music era. im turning 21 in a few weeks, and i now feel like ghostboi. ghostboi has encapsulated the rage i feel regarding something that happened to me within the church. its comforting to know that, even in this time, your music and creativity has been there for me. relatable, raw, and it makes me feel.

whether for God, for the youth, or for grief, you encapsulated what i feel. from 2016 up to today, you know what i feel, how i feel. it's so comforting my guy.

love u, cant wait for ur next projects.

  • Christianity should never be a shackle, and you’ve got to say what you’ve got to say. Never hide it, never contain it, let it out. Part of this community doesn’t understand that basic principle. Not everything has to be Hillsong level perfect, because in reality, nothing is really like that forever. It’s uplifting but sometimes life isn’t. So let it out. Let the dark stuff out so you can breath again. Love the honesty here. The raw, unfiltered aspect of montell’s music

If he brings it back around to redemption and revival in Christ then he’s a genius! Praise God for His power to turn this all around!

  • As someone who has been a fan for a while, I understand no one is entitled to know what you are going through, but I am happy at the opportunity to understand your moves. I have prayed for you and hope the best for you at all times. Thanks for being willing to share and be open in a time that may be extremely difficult to go through. God is with you bro! He is working through the pain to bring about his glorious future for you.

Montell, it’s really refreshing to hear your thoughts on a video again. I’ve been a huge for a few years now and you’ve helped me through so much. I lost one of my best friends last year and was going through a really dark time in my life. Your music and videos helped me process all of these emotions. You’ve helped me learn how to endure through all of the pain and grief in life. So I just wanted to thank you. Take care of yourself and don’t forget where you came from, man. The Father will always be there to comfort you through whatever you are going through.
  • you are so inspiring. the way you are so lyrically inclined, as well as making people feel things. feel moved, through your art. so much of everyone is hidden, and you show your vulnerable parts for us, which most seem to stray from. you don’t. it’s transparent, and it’s real. we see you.
  • @sammywsalgado
montell has always been my favorite artist just because he’s always been open, vulnerable and real through his art. so much beauty in that. even in the expression of this character, ghostboi and his vices, there’s so much beauty in that. as a christian, i thought i was alone in the church with these struggles and feelings i have but montell has made art i can relate with. the struggles and sufferings he’s sharing are themes of the christian walk too. don’t cast stones if you don’t understand.

Thank you for explaining yourself a bit! I was never too worried about where you are heading and support you in your art.
Went all the way from Berlin to Paris to see you! I must say, that show encouraged me. Especially the lines you sang „Maybe when we die, it will be alright. Death has won the fight, but light has won the war“. That was like a moment of worship to me. ❤

montell, i love everything you make, when i found your music i listened from the very first album, your music helped me so so much through hard times and war. and i am very thankful for you. please know i will always support. i like the ghostboy character you have made and i hope you will continue to make the music that YOU like and not what other people think. thank you my friend.
  • @nkomimoagi935
your music most definitely speaks to something deeper....transition through the multi stages of what we experience in life...on how emotions felt can go from being gentle to extremely harsh...something we truly need to understand. We all express and process differently how we move through those stages, shouldn't be set by the expectations of others.
