Russell Hartley made a response video to defend himself after the things I said in my video. So for episode 107 of my podcast, I decided to sit down and go through his rebuttal to see what the fuss is all about. Enjoy!

Not only objectifying, but horsifying women

Kurtis: don't compare women to horses Russell: i wasn't comparing women to horses, i was making a metaphor in which i COMPARE WOMEN to HORSES
  • @Grace-vy2fj
“Men feel discouraged that women have access to certain things men don’t” YOU’RE KIDDING 💀💀
  • @ThisIsEmerald
I Am in a polyamorous relationship and I can tell you, its fucking weird to say you can only text eachother via group chat. It's super insecure to not let your girlfriends talk to eachother privately, its honestly abusive. My partners and I trust eachother, so we don't need to restrict each other's communication, it's super messed up to do that.
  • Kurtis: don't call women horses Russ: Kurtis said that it's NEVER ok to EVER meet a woman in public UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. KURTIS DOESNT WANT MEN TO BE HAPPY.

Russell is trying SO HARD to emulate Kurtis's editing style but he doesn't have a sense of comedy or timing so it just flops. sad.

my favorite part of his horse analogy was when he said that after his partners realize he doesn't value the relationship they "go off to greener pastures." that phrase has always meant "leaving to find a better or more appealing situation." literally just tattling on himself from start to finish. i guess this is how he wants to perceive himself out to the world as 😔

I’m a gay male and it’s so odd seeing these guys that think being sexist gets them women
  • @bee125
he thinks being objectified and over-sexualised is a privilege
  • @DearestFandoms
His condescension is insufferable. He comes off incredibly unlikable in that video. He thought he was “clapping back” but didn’t realize his hands were smacking himself in the face. He revealed his fruits, and his fruits are spoiled.

My favorite thing is when he tells Kurtis his journalism is "half-baked" then immediately says his name incorrectly.

the bar is on the ground, but seeing Kurtis be so angry at this man and genuinel defending women, etc, made me tear up. So man guys pretend like it isn't a serious issue that there are sexists like these, but it is . it hurts so much knowing that there are people who will never see you as anything other than a sex-object, a bitch or someone stupid. it hurts and so many guys pretend it's just.. normal. Even guys who aren't sexist still sometimes play it of as if it isn't a big deal, but it is, it ipacts our every life, indirectly or directly. Seeing someone stand up against it should be normal, but it sadly isn't yet, and i'm so thankful Kurtis still did it.

His editing is painfully cringey, but still not as cringey as his entire worldview.
  • Kurtis: how about we treat women as human beings and not objects? Russel: how DARE you insult me in this way
  • @sydnifer
Two years later. The fact that Kurtis single handedly made this clown embarrass himself off of the internet almost entirely gives me so much joy.
  • @cringepaw
"It's below me to insult a man" proceeds to continuously insult Kurtis
  • @phexwor8433
“I’m not gonna make fun of him because that’s beneath me” *proceeds to make fun of kurtis throughout the whole video saying he’s too stupid to understand what he’s saying because clearly russell is the smart one here* “Obviously kurtis doesn’t know what a metaphor is” “To most people that may be obvious, but to kurtis, it’s not” “You get so triggered by a metaphor i mean how do you live your life” “That should be obvious, i mean i know that’s not obvious to kurtis” “that’s what half baked journalism gets you kootis conurs” “it’s not that i lied, it’s just that you, kurtis, have poor reading comprehension” “takes a certain amount of technical skill that i’m sure kurtis couldn’t even come close to” ...shall i go on? (btw i’m paraphrasing some of these so some aren’t direct quotes but you get the gist)
  • @caprisun98568
The fact that this guy has to say, "I don't actually think women are horses," is sending me
  • @aysnottouse4972
as someone who has panic attacks pretty regularly, i appreciate someone FINALLY bringing up that saying "triggered" is super fucking insensitive.
