If "clearly unseaworthy" why did the port authorities allow the vessel to leave the port?
  • Good Luck Collecting any Money - they will just File Bankruptcy and Disappear...
  • ANY ship entering or leaving the port should have a tug boat escort. The ships operators need to held accountable. They new that there was a problem, but they didn't care. They left the dock anyway. They are the ones that need to be held accountable. They are the ones who are ultimately responsible for their ship and the equipment on board. This was totally preventable.
  • we've said it again, and again, and again - these jumbo and super-jumbo ships need tugboat assistance both entering and leaving the harbor, and coming and going from their wharves. Not a gray zone. When they are moving slowly, they can not steer themselves properly and in harbors they have to move very slowly. Not even a gray zone, and we've said it again, again, and again. And if the Port of Baltimore wants to talk about safety, why don't you start by getting that crew off the shipwrecked boat - it is clearly and seriously unsafe to have a crew living on board. The vessel is a hazmat area, and it is a serious fire hazard, and the salvage operations themselves make it a completely unsafe vessel to be living on board. It is patently ridiculous for that crew to be living on board, absolutely ridiculous. The only people allowed on board at this point should be rescue and salvage personnel, coming and going in shifts, i.e. not living on board.

If it was "unseaworthy " what happen to the Pilot ? Port authorities. The Pilot is the one in charge of ship until its out in open water.
  • This is when sponge bob was the captain and Patrick was the maintenance guy lol
  • How about the Official that let it leave port. They need too be held accountable.....

Our infrastructure in this country is not update if a ship hitting a bridge disrupts our way of getting needed items to the rest of the country what has to happen to take this country down?? you are treading on tender ground why did the tugs not escort the ship in to open water and why were the flinsey bridge supports not have dolphins to stop this happening also did the ship load fuel from the port that was contaminated

Hold liable and responsible the DOC holders (DPA / Tec & ops departments) to the full extent of the law - blatant disregard to the ISM code - only function of such ship managers are to harass the ship staff and suck up to the owners.
  • There is a tug bringing in a ship in. Playing by the rules now that the world is watching? What is the weight limit? It looks overloaded.

They thought they had electrical issues fixed not the case ship should have never left the dock dali done screwed up
  • If there was a chance the electrical problems the ship experiencedin port, might return, they should have not concealed the earlier problems so that the pilot could have requested tugboat sheparding all the way out of the bay and past the bridge.
  • They need to have people secretly show up, and analyze the condition of the ship.
